I'm gonna have to text or call him to see if I can drop mine off for the valve job. Also, what I might need to provide for him other than oil/filter for the change... thoughts?

BTW, created our group!!!

You'll also need coolant since you have to flush the system out to get to the valves. Not necessary for a valve job, but might as well do a brake fluid flush since you've had the bike a couple of years now. Also up to you if you want to replace the gasket.

Of course! The tech days are for people to learn, ask as many questions as you would like I will have my bike completely in pieces so you can see the ins and outs!

Anyone want to host?

Either works for us. Regardless Sharon and I will come, if it's at kens we may have to take the support truck as the winds if they get crazy may freak Sharon out some. She has progressed a ton in the month and a half she has been riding but when Cindy and I came through that one day it was pretty crazy.

Ken how bad have the winds been lately? How bad do you think they will be?

Like I said we will he there one way or another and I shall bring The Dude!

The winds aren't bad this weekend, 5 to 10, but the temps are going to be around 108 Sunday. 4% humidity.

I have work in 92101 at 4PM but I may be able to go in late (someone owes me ~3 hours). I need a valve job BADLY. It may be too late. I have jug of premixed coolant.

I need help with a rear rotor install too. I think I'm going to have trouble with one bolt even though the service guys were able to get it off when I switched to blue rims.

Do I need my exhaust on for a valve job? I was planning to paint it and may leave it at home.

I am moving and need to ride cross-country soon so I will also be getting rid of some tools. If anyone wants a bead breaker, a few tire irons, impact screwdriver, mini-torch, or a front and rear stand, I'll take what I can get for them. I may not be quite done with the stands though. I also have extra Shell Rotella T6 5W-40 and K&N oil filters with o-rings for anyone who needs it.

I also have SV650 clip-ons, an undertail, a hugger, integrated tail light, etc which I'd love to install. The old guide on Kawiforums has no pics anymore. My new grips are already deteriorating but I was hoping to reuse them. Does Ken have an air-compressor? I hear that there is some way to use one for easily removing them.

valve jobs take awhile
it took 2 days for adrian's bike
i doubt we'll be able to get a valve job done in one day, and on 2 bikes on top of that
unless it's that easy for KC to do

Turns out this is a bad weekend for me... I'm on duty right now so tomorrow I'm going to be tired and have to get things ready because on Sun I might have to go into work for unit recall. Monday I'm going to the field for a week and the following week I'll be in Hawthorne, NV on business.... I hate missing events
