Angeles Crest Highway 9/22/13 + Time Lapse Video

I rode the ACH for the 3rd time yesterday afternoon. I started at around 4:15pm from La Cañada Flintridge. The weather was about 80 degrees. After passing a couple of cars early on, I didn't encounter any traffic in my direction until almost the end. No motorcycles passed me and I didn't pass any either.

They just finished re-paving large sections of the road, so it was very smooth. It got very cold as I approached the high elevations (8,000 feet). I was wearing my summer gloves and my hands were starting to freeze. The second half had the usual small rocks on the road from the rock slides.

I recording the whole thing on my GoPro camera, and I made a 10-minute time lapse out of it:

Ahhhh... solo runs can be relaxing when there is no traffic to deal with and your route looks like that.
