Exhaust clearance issues?

I'm running a Yoshimura tri-oval can / full exhaust, seems to sit higher than the stock can. It's dragging...
Is this common for other brands (Leo, Area P)?

p.s. suspension is set to be a bit taller in the back, a few mm above stock with GSXR shock conversion, front has emulators / oil etc.

I have the AreaP race system, the only time it will drag is when I am crashing. lol It's been my experience that most race oriented systems will not drag.

Can you post a pic of yours?

Wow, that is pretty low. You need to get that mounted up higher, heck it don't look any higher than the stock can. You sure that is a full system on not just a slip-on?

Oh and the Zombie bus is awesome!

Yes, very sure. I installed it

I'm not sure if I can move it up without getting a new system, so I suppose that's a distinct possibility.

What size tire are you running? That will also change your clearance. So will adding that slider. The shock swap will help if the spring is stiffer or if it is longer, but neither of those will be enough to overcome the weight of the rider if they are a fat ass.

I'd check that exhaust hanger against the stock one and see if it is sitting lower.

Tires are 140/110 Pirelli rosso 2/supercorsa back/front. Its a pretty standard combo. The shock is a revalved gsxr unit with proper springs for my weight. Bike handles very well, so I'm hesitant to mess with geometry. Maybe a different midpipe and hanger will do the trick.

P.s. my ass is 170lb so not too bad for 6' tall dude.

Your setup/weight/height is similar to mine, you just simply gotta get it mounted higher mang.

If you're using a gsxr shock without using custom dog bones, it immediately means your bike is considerably lower than stock. Either change your shock or use shorter dogbones to raise the rear. Good luck!

What Hans said^^^ but I assumed that it was corrected when he said he was running the rear higher than stock.

I have shorter dogbones installed. If the shock was ride height adjustable I may have tried to tweak that, I may cut some even shorter linkage bits or get high mount pipe.

i have that trioval yoshi in SS. it does drag early compared to other exhausts. if you get a smaller bracket you can raise it up an inch or so with the pipe clamps the way they are. the high mount areaP seems to have the best clearance out side of a shorty no-can.
