Barber Vintage Festival

Leaving October 9th for Birmingham, Alabama to stay three days at Barber Motorsports park then on to Daytona for Biketoberfest. Riding my 250. Anyone from Ohio heading to Barber to Daytona?

Barber

Leaving Thursday right after work hoping to get 250 miles in before I head to motel. Finish the remainder on Friday arriving by noon. Going to Moonlight Dinner at the museum Friday night gonna be an awesome week! Sunday night after Barber heading to Daytona. Probably layover in Dothan then Monday make the remaining miles to Daytona Beach. I'm really looking forward to the trip excited. 250 is ready to go with ZG Sport Touring shield , Corbin seat and my 32 liter Whitney top case. 11 blissful days and no work bothering me

Just changed over to synthetic at 4500 miles. Probably have 2,000 miles on trip by the time I get home.

the mother of all trips

Just returned today the 20th of October from what has to be the toughest Oho to Alabama to Daytona and back to Ohio trip I've ever taken.

A torrential down pour for three hours in Tennessee started it all. It was sooo bad my friend and got separated for almost three hours!!

Got to Barber soaked even though I had all my rain gear on because it rained that bad. Then found our way over to the Rime Garden where we stayed. Left Barber Sunday night and my buddy flatted just coming out of the track. BMW with wires wheels meant it had a tube. For the next four hours we screwed around with that darn tire finally a can of fix a flat kept the tire pumped as we railed it to Dothan, Alabama to spend the night before making the final couple hundred miles to Daytona.

Did the usual stuff and headed out Sunday morning to come home. Almost made it to Wytheville but 37 degrees and a light drizzle made me say "Stop"...

Next morning 37 degrees greeted me. I had purchased electric glove liners at Daytona and tried them coming home and they worked well coupled with Gerbing jacket and pants I was toasty That was good because it was cold and foggy going up and down the mountains in WVA. Just about 20 miles from home coming towards Berlin Lake it started raining. I laughed inside my helmet thinking well what else can the weather throw at me?

I had a previous issue with bike shutting off and after checking and swapping out things decided I had bad gas. Well I think I've finally found the culprit. Coming back on I-77 at about 70 mph mile 180 the bike started lurching and I pulled over it sputtered a few times and finally caught and picked up RPM.

At the next gas stop I switched the petcock to PRI/manual and went 225 miles before I ran her out of gas. Dealership said my bike wasn't affected by recall on petcock. I believe there is something wrong when you can't go past 180 miles without it coughing and sputtering..

Anyways all total I did 2,743 miles on the 250 Ninja. Other than the gas starvation she ran well. Wardie

Excellent! It's something you'll remember for the rest of your life.

Remember to go the speed limit in Summersville.

I got an email from Jerry Wood and he said everything went well. I have to get over there sometime.
