Upside down fork conversion from 636 bolt on

I was in process of doing this on the ninja but got the deal of year and sold the bike and bought my next ducati.

I have a steering stem that was cut out of the ninja by a machine shop and installed into 636 triples, gold 636 forks and front wheel and radial calipers.

Pretty much complete sans rotors, because I wanted the newer wave rotors and but those require a 10mm spacer or you can go with regular 04 636 rotors.

I bought all the parts to make the swap bolt on, if I ever sold the bike and went back to stock.

$350 obo, all these parts cost me about $1100

I need this gone and if no interest will be parting seperately on ebay.

it includes

front 06 zx6r rim(new style like whats on ninja 250)
with tire 120/60(low tread tho but useable)

Front Axle

Pair of 636 forks

Pair of gold tokico radial calipers with lines

636 Triples (06 new style) with Stem for ninja 250

636 Clip Ons

All included for that price plus shipping, selling it cheap to get rid of all of it at once, plus the Stem is useless unless used on a 250r. I have a new bike so don't want it sitting in the shed forever plus I could use the loot.

First come first serve, if it doesn't sell in a week, to Ebay it goes and parting it

new pics

Here are some pics of the steering stem...I got $500 in this alone and is done right. I wanted to show pics to let you know its for real and not a game.sorry for the crappy pics but took with cell phone. Will get other pics up later this evening of the rest of the kit.

So you can see what a deal it is. Also if serious leave a number and will call you or txt back. Gonna be on the go so won't have time to exchange endless emails for questions.

You guys know I am rebuilding my pregen.

From the performance perspective, how much different would this be from swapping a new gen front?

Sorta interested.

i want these. i wish i wasnt getting screwed by the gov. otherwise they would already be bought. the USD forks will put a tiny bit of extra torque on the frame head, but it already flexes so who cares. if you crash in them youll probably bend the frame rather than those forks. not sure what rate springs are in it but youll probably want to swap them to get them properly tuned for your weight/geometry setup, but they are 3 way adjustable. muuuuuch nicer than new-gen forks which are not adjustable at all outside of oil swaps, and preload spacers, unless you buy expensive emulators, but at that point yoou are already paying more than this kit.

not sure if they fit unmodified fairings.

didn't get that far, but shouldn't be a problem cause guys in indonesia have been doing it for years. I hadn't ever seen one in the states so I was doing it for braggin rights, and I like doing what people said couldn't/shouldn't be done.
The hardest part has been done, I figured out the mystery of the steering stem. It took a very competent machine shop, who weren't scared to mess with it.

Btw, if someone really wants this we can work something out. I never got to install it before I sold the bike and would have liked to see it realized for all the work put in figuring out how to do it. Maybe you can buy half now, and half later and I hold the remaining parts for you like layaway. Just make sure you take good pics when installed

One of you guys needs to jump on this deal! I did this conversion on my track day/race ninjette using an R1 front set up and it is night and day. The shorter offset makes the bike turn much better and hold a line better! Someone buy this!!!!!

He's got a 'busa front end, and it works REALLY well. It'll be a vast improvement over stock. Someone pick this up.

received the packages today! but not too happy with the packaging of the forks, see pictures . packaging could have been better imo. after unpacking it appears that one of the forks cast aluminum mounting brackets for the front fender is broken . not sure if this happened before or during shipment as I can't really tell from the pics provided above and it was not mentioned if this flaw already existed. i guess not too big of a deal as it doesn't affect the function of the forks. worst case scenario would be i would have to purchase another used fork or run without front fender for a while. for now, i'll try to throw everything on and see how it works before i worry about cosmetic defects, i understand its used stuff happens...

no, i didn't see any broken pieces in the bubble wrapped packaging or box. but its not too big of deal, in the overall picture, Joe still did the hardest part which was welding the 250 stem. and for an entire 636 front end, forks, clipons, triples, wheel, calipers, and minus rotors, it's actually still a pretty good deal in the end. for now i'll probably just try to put everything on and make sure it all works, before i go buying a new fork or do anything else.

Watch this..... The reply is going to be a permutatation of "I didn't know" or "damaged" during shipping.

Either way sucks to be you who bought it and shame on people who are dishonest!

IF he knew about this issue and still sold it without disclosing, that is just straight up shady scam.

Wow. It has nothing to do with this bike and you guys are acting like it's a defect. It could have been trimmed when trying to mount a fender or something. Even the buyer didn't think it was as big a deal as you guys. If the forks aren't the same distance apart as they were on a 636 (thus, wouldn't fit a 636 fender) and it wasn't used as part of the caliper mount or something (buyer says it's for fender), I say it's a big fat case of "So what? It's modified." Who knows: Maybe it could fit a 636 front fender (it does fit the wheel) but, even so, that may be how the OP scored them without the fender or frame (cheap due to irrelevant defect). As long as he wasn't selling them as flawless replacement 636 parts, I wouldn't worry about it.

Are you serious? Did you miss the entire idea of this? It fits a 636 rim, it HAS to be the same width as a 636 because its using a 636 triple

Its ****ed up that they guy didnt say its broken

I edited above. It's using a modified triple and there could be modified spacers and caliper mounts. Even so, it's likely that it would fit the fender and I only mentioned that possibility to be thorough, but it's not like the fender isn't going to mount because of that damage. Without a fender, the OP may not have even known. There was a guy here who had the left side of his front fender snapped off for several months (more than a year?) and didn't notice even when working up close because it was a clean break. He remembered that it had happened long before when it fell off the front fork stand.
