SF Bay Area drivers... *facepalm*

I really shouldn't be surprised anymore, but I am still amazed at people's inability to merge properly.

People piss me off so much. Especially during commutes. It's ridiculous what some people will do to save themselves 15 seconds

Which is ironic because if everyone would just merge when they are supposed to, traffic jams wouldn't be such a problem.

English person here.

I'm guessing those solid white lines shouldn't be crossed and up ahead there are dashed-lines where the merging is supposed to occur?

Nailed it . On the surface, it SEEMS like a simple enough idea.

Apparently it's simple enough that a non-American can intuitively guess the idea.

Around here, the ones merging will not go fast enough but also, the ones already in the lane REFUSE to slow down (or god forbid, move to the left lane) even just enough to make room. Turns into a damn pissing contest at every ramp.

Oh! Oh! Quick question, crossings without the red countdown hand and the white walking man and no road striped markings, when do you cross?

This. I can't remember a time when I saw a merge actually go smoothly. Either people are speeding up and cutting as many people off as they can or slowing down to let each other in and hence, slowing from 65 to like 35 on the freeway... Each time it's like they are doing it for the first time EVAR!

Oh don't you worry, we got plenty of shoulder drivers too. Obviously they're too important to wait in traffic with the rest of the peasants lol.
