HELP!!! should i fix my ninja?

i need help!!!!. i dont know whether or not i should fix my ninja

i got into an accident a few weeks back and damaged my 08 ninja 250r.
damages i can see are:

front forks are bent,
front cowl, cracked,
right rear view mirror fell off,
left turn signal not working,
clutch lever snapped a bit,
missing fairing bolts,
scratched bar ends.

i have bought front forks and installed them. ( dont think they aligned properly)

i live in New Zealand, bike parts are really expensive, and labour is expensive too.

i only just bought my bike a few months ago, are those things listed above easy fixes?

please help

Sorry about your crash and hope you are ok. You list of repairs is mostly easy aside of fixing the fairing and fork alignment.

No matter if your going to continue to ride it or resell it, I would fix them as cheaply as possible. The only exception to this is if you decide to claim it to your insurer.

Here is what I would do.

Forks - DIY fork alignment
Front Fairing - Do you still have the broken pieces? They can be glued back together and the cracks filled in. Kinda depends...
Mirror - Although 2 mirrors are better, I sometimes ride with just one mirror. Or ebay bar end mirrors are an option. Check the bicycle shops maybe they have a handlebar mirror you can mount on your bar end.
Turn Signal - New bulb at the auto parts store near you? There was a thread on here for using the stock hardware to flush mount the front signals. I will see if I can find the link.
Clutch lever - Leave it (use a file to grind down sharp points) or get some new ones from ebay (The2Wheels)
Fairing Bolts - Check you local Home improvement, hardware store or machine shop for replacements first. If you want OEM, bolts are still cheap.
Bar ends - Leave em, sand and repaint yourself.

Good luck and you're in good hands. Plenty of very smart and handy riders here that can help you fix just about anything.

Sad to learn that you had an accident, Jack.

If you are OK, then you were lucky to only have minor problems on your bike.

Follow the excellent advice from Chris in post #2.

Most of the Ninjettes rolling on USA's roads have scars like the ones your bike just acquired;........and we are just fine with that.

You should examine your frame to make sure it isn't bent also. If it is, then that means everything has to come off and you have to take it somewhere that can straighten it.

The other stuff you mentioned is fairly minor. If the fairing is just cracked a little and not missing any plastic, then you can dremmel a V-groove in the backside and fill it with JB-Weld. I did that on a fender and so far its been working great.

Flush mount turn signals can be bought for the newgen pretty cheap. A new standard clutch lever will run about $15 or less. Here is a set of carbon fiber ones for $13 USD ($16 NZD) on ebay. I'm not sure what the shipping charges to NZ would be.

So yes, I think its worth fixing.
