It looks less professional when you look close enough to see all the little brush strokes trying to fix the areas where the painters tape failed me or the small imperfections from repairing thrice crashed body work (so much sanding. SO MUCH SANDING) But yeah, it's still the cleanest I've done to date, so I'm stoked with how it came out. Gets a little easier and a little better everytime. Thanks!

4 colors ran me about $20 in rattle cans and about $15 worth of my clear coat. So my rates are in league with "ballin' on a budget" pricing

hey just thought id share my 250 race bike the pics aren't the most recent. i have added some new paint and some decals which ill post up those pics when i get a chance. also the fairings I'm running are the best, if your interested in them i can get them for you, they do take a little time to get as they are kinda hard to order from the manufacture located in the czech republic.

can't wait to see your 300 race bike, and i agree those rc390 cup bikes are awesome. too bad the msrp for them is $9999 and they come with 5 less horse power than the standard model.

attempting to follow two of them yesterday (and actually following a 3rd one that had a slower rider on it) I didn't notice that they were down on power at all (granted the N300 is underpowered in comparison to either 390)

They all pulled on me in the straights and gained ground in the wide open corners, the motoamerica kids then pulled on me everywhere because yates and blackmon are stupid fast and weight nothing. They were dragging elbow (yates was the clear faster of the two but it wasn't that big of a gap between them)

sounds like a fun time. if i had 10k to spend on a track bike it would be a hard decision between the rc390 or a used moriwaki md250.(i have a thing for low dicplacemet bikes on the track.) i think the moriwaki might be the better of the two considering its a purpose built racer in a 125 gp bike frame.

moriwaki is better but I'd get the ktm and have some fun (still get destroyed most likely) with the motoamerica kids on an equivalent bike

ya hopefully they keep the rc 390 cup for some time. i am 18 and am planning on starting to do some club level racing next summer on my 250. currently i am just doing track days and racing flat track cause its all i can afford right now. its a longshot, but that would be a dream goal to race in the moto america rc 390 cup for me. and since the max age limit is 21, if i really got my **** together and was dedicated it could be a possibility. sadly i don't have much support from my parents and i didn't start riding when i was a toddler like most of those other racers probably did lol. so it will most likely continue to stay a dream haha.

max age is 22, my only shot at running in that class is NJMP on sept 11-13 (helps that I'm also racing there on the 10th)

if you're 18 you definitely have enough time to mature your skills, age isn't the determining factor as fitness, experience, and skill are more important. They have you on experience and skill, but you can build a lot of skill in a short period of time if you do things right

I believe from my current skill level it would take me one year of dedicated training (without injury) to reach the skill level required to qualify for the rc390 cup. Two years to do the same with 600cc superstock as that requires me to adjust to a very different class and the added costs associated with racing a 600 are insane in comparison.

There are three things you'll need
a road cycle (for fitness)
a trackday package that lets you ride every weekend (this is by far the most important thing, I'm getting one with TPM for next season) track time is everything. I'm planning to ride 80 days next season, because I can and want to (break even point is around 20 days for the titanium package w/tpm)
a few sets of tires, personally I'm going the dunlop route (at least for now) and getting a second set of rims for rain tires

expect to blow 15 grand minimum...it'll be so worth it but the money is painfully expensive if you don't have a relatively high paying job

you can get support from your parents, just show them enough passion for it and get them out there to watch. They should naturally see you wanting to succeed and be behind you if only for moral support. Mine have slowly come around since I was 18 and are fans of me going to the track and racing, though they haven't made themselves available to come watch yet and are also scared for my safety at the track

I am Rossi, because my R3 pulls higher speeds than the 390.

But from what I read on forums, our R3's (and N300) are faster than US models, and our 390's don't dyno what US models do.
Could possibly be our LAMS formula of 150kw/tonne wet with 90kg rider in gear calculations.

Nice! that's really interesting to me, while I haven't seen an r3 in action yet in person the 390 totally outclasses the ninja 300 down the straights and then has better suspension(...and better riders) for the corners

While my stock 390 (engine, exhaust, suspension) isn't faster than the 250s I race against (all rider fault). I have been faster than other 390s I've raced against. My penske rear should be in any day and my new springs should be in soon too, so I'm hoping to drop a few seconds off my times at my next event.

thanks the tail section/seat is just one of the reasons i love these fairings. also if you didn't knowtice, the side fairings have a dropped down section that allows you to lower your clip ons however low you want without clearance issues on the fairings. another thing i like is the front fairing is separate from the sides, so to get to the radiator, all i have to do is remove one side fairing vs having to remove the whole upper fairing like the other 250 race bodywork. i also didn't have to modify the lower belly pan to clear the exhaust and chain unlike my last hot bodies set. currently i have a brand new spare set and can order more if anyone is interested.

Your bike looks absolutely Gorgeous!!! Will that windscreen work on a stock bike? I know it will cover the headlight, but it won't block the lights right?

well hopefully I don't need new body work anytime soon, but next time I do, I would like to know how much that set is and where to get it

But from what I read on forums, our R3's (and N300) are faster than US models, and our 390's don't dyno what US models do.
Could possibly be our LAMS formula of 150kw/tonne wet with 90kg rider in gear calculations.
Interesting. Does this mean the n300 and r3 have a second ecu map we don't know about?

Finding different pollution gear, charcoal canister, and plumbing.

eg Do US 390's and N300's have this?-

Also the engine noise, no idea how the AU ones got thru our strict adr's they sound good and quite loud when revved, US ones are whisper quiet.
Owners of course put systems on them and they sound pretty **** as any parallel twin does.

And the speed, US owners are saying 105.110, the odd 115 mph but questioning Asian vids of 187-189, mine does it easy at a very short track, running out of revs fast and could easily drop 2 teeth off the rear, maybe more.

Thanks! KTM makes it easy to make these bikes look good.

The race double bubble would allow for a little light to shine through but I wouldn't recommend riding it at night. Where the lights would be it's got a smoke texture to it so it reduces the amount of light. They do offer a double bubble for the street though.

Here's my 2009 250R. I drug this home in Nov 2015 and spent the Winter getting it ready for the 2016 track-day season. Did all the work myself which was fun. Can't wait until Spring and the 2017 season to start.
