Clickitty click click clickitty click click
So just got my battery tested and it is good and fully charged like my charger said, But I am getting a single click then nothing when I try to start bike. It doesn't do the numerous clicks like when the battery is dead. What could this be? bad starter motor? dirty posts ( on the battery, not the on ninjette ya sicko's)? Corroded terminals?

nevermind misread
You will have to check the connection from battery to starter solenoid. It's hard to say anything about the condition of the starter motor. Inspection for corroded terminals, loose connections, bad grounds are a good start. |

Use a screwdriver to jump the starter solenoid. They click sometimes.

if your battery is completely shot sometimes you will only get one click if any click at all.
How do your headlights and dash react when trying to start?

Same thing happened to me. It was the starter motor. Try loosening and tightening the connection to the starter motor.
Try clutch starting then bumping the starter just to rotate it a bit. |

Some contacts in those relays are not touching each other, not sending power to the starter motor. Follow this schematic for troubleshooting: http://faq.ninja250.org/images/0/07/..._Schematic.pdf

My dad had and old chevy that did the same thing. He hit it (the starter, not the truck) with a big arse crescent wrench and then it was good to go.
Probably not useful information but it's what I had. Last futzed with by iamjacob; June 20th, 2015 at 08:39 PM. Reason: edification |

I took battery to a different AutoZone since first one seemed a little unsure if what she was doing. The second opinion said battery was showing 12v but only 45% charged. So i am leaving on charger overnight even though light shows green. Will try it again tomorrow as well as bridging the starter. If no worky then i will take battery back to AutoZone and have them put it on their slow charger.

Everything goes out but then seems to come back on. Headlights don't have a chance to chance to come on

Yeah probably for sure now since i just accidentally dropped the god damn thing on the ground. Looks like there might be small cracks. I'm getting a damn lithium, screw the acid batteries, nothing but trouble and tired of having to hook up to charger every few days. Ballistic here I come

Sealed gel battery here, no issues since I switched over a year ago.

IT'S ALIVE!! its allllliiiiiivvvve!
Was on charger for second full night and just hooked it up. Started up perfectly, however i asm still going to get a new battery. Since i depend on this bike to commute to work i can't be worthing about the battery every week. Even with the quick disconnect it had been a pain in the arse. A least this gives me a few days to do a little more research on batteries.

May be worth checking into the charging system on bike. Just to make sure you don't cook a new battery.
