...Dash Lights.

So this is the first night I've ridden in the dark, and I noticed that only my fuel gauge is illuminated. Everything else is black, with a little light shinning under the odometer.

This should be covered under manufacture warranty right?

Your dealer will give you no problem fixing this. The quicker the less hassle.

Yeah I'm going to call them tomorrow. Won't be able to take it up right away though. Do you think they can fix it as I stand there, or is it something I'm going to need someone else following me in a car?

You should ask them that when you call.

Might as well get used to it now.... dealers are most of the time horribly slow. Sometimes you catch a good window though. Good luck on that yo!

Yeah but I figure it's winter and they looked dead the last few times I've been there.

Technically this is a good opportunity to swap the bulbs out with LEDs

AFAIK, they're just 194 bulbs aren't they?

So easy to DIY, bulbs cost like less then 5 bucks and 20 min of your time. Self satisfaction too! lol. Remove front fairing under the gauge there should be wire following the one that is out (needs replacement) and just simply pull on the wire, and pop its out.

At first Hyundai refused to cover under warranty a bunch of dash and console lights that all started going out within a couple weeks on a new 2000 Elantra many years ago. Eventually they agreed to replace all but the two in the stereo light and so began many frustrating years of dangerously swerving when operating the radio. We had to argue that they weren't user-serviceable because the dash needed special tools to get behind.

Eventually the car had a catastrophic oil failure soon after we hit 100,000 miles (<5 years old). It was full synthetic, so the engine would have been fine if we had some indication before it began stumbling and needed a complete rebuild for almost as much as the car was worth. It turns out that the oil pressure light was blown too and not replaced, which probably would have saved us thousands.
