Rescued ZZR

As per my other thread:

Quick story, I bought a cheap spare engine on ebay which was advertised as coming with "some spares". Upon arriving at the blokes house I found to my astonishment/delight the "some spares" turned out to be the entire bike! Yep the whole lot, I bought an engine for a cheap price and got this. It's a ZZR250 which had been dumped under a pile of crap in a pub garden for the last three Years "never to see the road again".

So I decided to have a bash at getting it running, and with a weekend of tinkering, new fuel, a good strip and clean of the carbs, replacement fluids all round, new air filter sponge and a fair bit of fault finding with the moldy (very) wiring connectors and it's burst into life!! Everything works and it even runs pretty good!

Sure enough as you can see it's battered as hell and uses a screwdriver to operate all the locks but most of my bikes are like that anyway :P and for the price of a cheap engine I ain't complaining. Been zooming round the country lanes on it all day and aside from the soggy forks I really like it. If it keeps running this nice for the next few months I'll dump the plastics and use it on my 5,000 mile trip round Europe in April

Added a 99p weatherproof LED strip to the grab handle, really boosts the visibility of the brake lighting on these dark evenings.
