who has been riding?

Idk about you guys but I have racked up over 300miles since Christmas Eve. Now if I lived a lot of places this would be no news at all, but here in pa, a month after i first stored my bike for the winter, perfect riding weather in DEC is something to get excited about. I saw close to 100 bikes out today.

I was wondering how the rest of my northern brothen have been getting along?

Old Gas...

Burned some old gas yesterday, with a little help from this magic potion they call Seafoam.
While warming up at a starbucks some guy approached me asking how much I got the ninja for? He said he'd bet I got it for a low price since it's off season, giving me advice on how to properly break the engine in, what gear to wear, etc.

I let him finish. then I told him I had the bike for 4 years. He called BS and walked away.

I guess I look too much of a noob.

I went up on some mountain roads yesterday. I've put on about 300 since xmas eve, too. It got so cold once I hit the elevation change that I had to turn around.

Snow was predicted yesterday, I still got a 50 mile run in before the first flake landed on my visor, cue a very fast rip back home through the mountains before it got bad

I got a little 30 mile ride in on Christmas day: rode along the water through Alki and Beach Drive/Marine View Drive. Very pleasant, near zero traffic.

I ran the streamliner today ~ 30 miles running errands. It was in the 40's and the wimds had eased up a lot, very nice. I hadn't run the streamliner in a while as I needed to fix the taillight mount. The battery needed a jump from the charger to start it but ran great after that. I removed my summer time engine covers so it was very comfortable.

Since Christmas Eve? Due to my bike's battery being toast, I just got in the 60 mile ride this afternoon to go buy a new one.

Since December 1st? About 500 miles mostly due to the extreme cold and threats of storms. I don't do no sub 20* evenings.

Hoping I'll be able to continue my little tradition of "riding in the new year" next week.

I'm not northern but been riding since Christmas day here. Got rain today and tonight so probably not today. Temps have been 50's and 60's. Almost went to the dragon yesterday...then I remembered...had to pick up the wife from work at 4 and she wouldn't be happy if I was in TN at that time.

Harley boots, the ones with little metal buckles and such; or the ones with the chains for those days when you really wanna be a badass old lawyer type
