They're all going to laugh at you….

I have been laughed at consistently when i tell people what size my girl is. I like my 250. I live on Guam you can't go faster than 35-45 anyway (which we do but thats another story). Has anyone ever been laughed at for having a 250?

I'm sure i've gotten a chuckle or two, but the only one that ever bothered me was when the sales creep implied that a 250 wasn't a real bike and that I wanted a 600 or 1000. I got even by walking away.

Laugh at their insurance rates.

I get more bike envy than people laughing at me.
I've had a salesperson try to tell me that I should upgrade from my 250... But couldn't give me a good reason to

I was kinda embarrassed at how people would think but now I'm like whatever. Its my bike. It looks badass. And I know eventually I'll get a 600 so I'm in no hurry to upgrade just because of what others think

If someone makes fun of a 250, you simply say to him (most likely would be a guy), "Oh, I'm sorry for that small penis you obviously have."

Or try not being so insecure, who gives a crap what some asshat says. Anyone who doesn't consider a Ninja 250 to be a real bike obviously only uses their bike to ride in straight lines, and is most likely a squidick

Whats funny is i either get the chuckle and the "ohh honey" look with the head tilted to the side or I get woah your hotness scale went from here to here. (hands at waist then hands above head). I just smile and say the bike is perfect for me and thats all that matters. Still sucks to be laughed at

Never happened...

Most who don't know motorcycles think it's a 750 or a 1000, so when I say it's only a 250, I'm the one laughing...

Those who know it's a 250, they mostly know about motorcycles, they just seem happy with the fact that I ride a motorbike, so they just ask why I chose a 250 and how it is riding and let me be happy with it...

I just tell people its a 250 right from the off. Its a solid bike, if they cant wrap their mind around that, ignore them. Ride for yourself, you'll eventually meet some like-minded riders.

I have had plenty of folks that "know" bikes like AMA riders say if they go a street bike it would be a 300... So a 250 isn't far removed

Some folks need to check the front of their Britches before they talk

Scale
Fast bike slow
Slow bike fast!!!

Ill keep going fast on my slow bike

I don't tell them up front.

I ask them to guess. If they don't already know what it is they guess wrong.

So they've already got egg on their face when you do tell them. It's hard to deride someone if you've already demonstrated your ignorance.

It also helps if they see you riding like you mean it.

I've never had anyone laugh about my EX250's( at least not to my face). Most people are stunned by the streamlining, the high fuel economy and that I've ridden it on some very long rides ( 5000 miles plus ). If I cared about other's reaction to things I'm intersted in I would never have enjoyed motorcycling, my carrer as a firefighter ( 33 years) and lot of other things I'm very pleased and proud of. You are the best judge of what you like riding or how you choose to live your life. The only time I an interested in someone's opinion is when it is from someone I truly respect.

I don't have a 250, but I get laughed at for having a sport bike. Most riders around my area are on cruiser, Harley-Davidson type bikes. Goes to show if it's not one thing, it's another; haters gonna hate. You're out there, that's what matters!

He'll yeah but only by the people who really know me and know what I can do on a motorcycle. Strangers don't really care what you ride and if they do they'll keep it to themselves. If someone is an ass enough to laugh at your bike then they are simply of a bracket of lower intelligence and self centeredness that you shouldn't feel obligated to converse with.

By the way I can't believe you bought a slow ass 250, what where you thinking

I didn't think that stigma applied to women (your profile strongly implies you're a woman). It's considered fashionable for women to ride dainty 50cc scooters here in Austin.

Regardless, if you're riding a motorcycle - any motorcycle, really - chances are you look cooler than 97% of the general population anyway, so almost no one is really in a position to mock you about it.

People who make fun of my bike are the people that have ridden it. But normally the cc's range from 250-1300. Depends on my sarcasm level.

I hypothesize these guys "laughing" at her are merely "negging" her. A sad attempt at "gaming" her, as made popular by The Game by the PUA Mystery.

OP is merely getting teased by guys trying to flirt. On the contrary, us men are legitimately being laughed at by moronic broskis who think anything less than a 600ss is a "wussy bike".

I just got my 250 and while i talk about it at work there's one guy who
claims to be a sport bike guru who "Has no Bike" Says his buddies would
laugh at me. But everybody else loves the bike and wants one there self's.
So quit worrying about what others think when you talk about your bike
mention its a Ninja most people never even ask about cc's. I've had many
big displacement bikes and i always go back to the smaller one's " I just
get more pleasure from riding them" And that's what it's all about enjoyment
for you not them. Ride on..

I was changing chain/sprockets today and someone came by the house.. Friend of a friend..

Took a look at my bike and asked if it was fast. I told him it wasn't very fast, but fast enough for me. He scoffed and told me that his last bike was an 1100cc cruiser. I asked him how many miles he put on it before he sold it, and he stammered. I asked him what kind of quarter mile times he put down on the bike, he couldn't come up with anything to say. I asked him if he ever took it to a track, he couldn't find any words to say.

His wife was loving it, and I asked her if he ever took her for rides -- and she said "No, he never felt comfortable with me on the back."

I looked at him again and asked if he felt comfortable riding, and when he might be buying a new bike because 'I'm always looking for people to ride with.'

He mumbled something and I told him to hand me the 10mm wrench. He complied and his wife giggled. Life is so much fun when you're pretty. And if you act like it, people seem to fall for it. Try it OP, it's like one of life's loopholes -- if you act like you're all that and a bag of chips, people just kind of... agree with you.

Yes, I ride a 250. No you can't touch it. Can't even look at it. Go on, get out. Don't look at me either.

I tell people I didn't get a bike to posture. I got a bike because it's a cheap vehicle that gets 60+ miles to the gallon.
Within a year it paid for itself, maintenance and insurance included by simply having 4x the gas mileage of my old car.

As for my patriotism? I grew up in the 90s. If American vehicle brands hadn't spent a decade plus shooting themselves in the foot, I'd trust them. I can't afford to keep an American car or bike running now.

Japanese vehicles? As close to putting gas in it and going as you get. I have yet to replace anything other than tires and oil on my bike (not counting the handlebar, but that didn't exactly bend itself...). For 3 newbie owners, 3+ drops and crashes, 23k miles and all for $1700 bucks I'd say it was a better deal than dropping several grand on a hardley or supersport I have to baby.

I wish I had a nickel for every kid pumping gas or pushing shopping carts who told me he wouldn't ride my bike as I gassed up or just got geared up, (anything from a KTM SMR950 to ZZR1200 to the baby Ninja), because he would only ride a Harley.

"Oh yeah, which Harley do you have?"

"Well I don't have one, yet, but I'd only ride a Harley, they are real bikes."

Then they mumble something about an uncle who had to lay it down or something, I can't really hear it cause my bike is running now and my gloves are going on. I just keep nodding, smiling and ride away.

There is no shortage of stupid in the world.

No one has laughed at me yet. Probably just a matter of time though. It's a karma thing because I laugh at people on scooters all the time.

I haven't been laughed at yet that i have been able to notice, but i have been shocked at how much i get complimented with my bike though. I get the "I want to have one myself look" a lot by people and also get the endless over the shoulder look wanting to get one themselves.

Your bike has 250, but how many c.c.s' of self-confidence do you have?

Who gives a ****? Laughing is fun. Laugh with them! Then ask if they'd like to ride her.

They can't laugh at you if they're dead.

You could always threaten to stab them in the throat with your key.
