Corbin Seat Installed

I purchased a used Corbin seat in excellent condition from Slolane last week. It finally came in the mail today. As soon as i got home from work tonight I installed it and took it for a quick test ride on the bumpiest road i know of.

This thing blows the stock seat out of the water. Much more comfortable and significantly smoother.

The stock seat slants forwards towards the tank which can create some excruciating amounts of pain on a bumpy road where you have slowly slid forward against the tank.

The Corbin seat is much more level with the ground and quite a bit flatter and wider where it's needed most. It's also a little bit lower to the ground so if somebody is having troubles reaching this is a good option other than lowering the bike. I'm only 5'5" so any little bit helps.

Now for some pictures:

Roads are pretty bad here as well. There's some places where the road has buckled so much that you are pretty much driving over speed bumps ever 20 feet for several miles. Then they try to fix them with a bunch of tar and rocks that just get washed all over the road and make it even works to ride on. Also, during winter they have a habit of overdoing it on the salt which destroys the roads even more.

If you get lucky somebody might have one for sale in the classifieds here or maybe on eBay. I picked this one up from Slolane in the classifieds here. It's in brand new condition for almost $100 less than buying new direct from Corbin.

Thanks everyone. Hopefully it doesn't rain today so I can give it a better test on my ride to work.

I put mine on this week too. So far, so good. Your clearance/fitment between the seat and black side covers look better than mine.

I bought one a few months ago before the season started and I couldn't be happier with the purchase. It doesn't look as aggressive as the OEM seat, but it is at least 10x more comfortable. I highly recommend getting one if you can afford it.

Hate to grave dig but I've been working on my bike since the crash and have been looking at parts to throw in.

I don't know if OP's still active but I appreciate the pics. It looks nice and I definitely trust your word on it being super comfortable. Only downside is the rear profile of it -- not particularly the angle but just the shape of it. The oem's rear design of the seat looks sportier but since I do a lot of long highway riding, I'm very interest in buying one now.

I'm thinking about buying a Corbin but concerned that I will have less legroom. Is that the case?

Can't imagine it being all that different. Leg room concern in regards to the width of the seat or the seat height afterward?

He did say it'd be a tad lower. That only means good things for me since I'm only 5'4" though I've already gotten used to just using one foot.

I didn't notice less...

You'll love it. The only thing that would make it better, is if they shaved the sides at the front just a little. This seems to be the general consensus. Technically you could send it in to Corbin to do, but it's not that big of a deal for most people, as it's such a huge improvement over stock.

I'm 5'10" and find the 250 a bit cramped so was just concerned about the footpeg to seat distance. I'm not concerned about the width of the seat or touching the ground. If its less legroom with the Corbin installed, I think I would have to pass. I have a Corbin on my 636 and had one on my old SV650S and know what a big difference it makes.

Good clarification, thanks; in that case, I'm not sure....

You could always get rear-sets if you didn't have enough legroom. But you may or may not want to go to those lengths, as it would change your riding position some.

Most rearsets give less legroom and I'm not looking to spend the money. I have a dedicated track bike (CRF450R supermoto) so don't need to go crazy with mods on the 250. I put 2600 kms on it in 3 days and would have appreciated more legroom and a comfier seat.
