Soooo I was at chuckwalla today with @Zombiphone.

PERFECT weather. Which is unbelievable at this time of the year. We had a 102 forecast but it was actually around 90's. But since it was covered with clouds (but dry) it felt like 80's. Who knows it could've been really 80's.

Open session so everyone is on the same track. PLENTY of track time.

Did 4 loooong sessions and felt great. I don't go to chuckwalla nearly as often as I go to other tracks so I was able to drop 8 more seconds off my personal best. I was also pretty consistent at this speed which is good.

On my 5th session, I followed Taffy around for 3-4 laps. Then she exited and I kept going. I must've done 5-6 more by myself. Did my best time on like 4th of those. I was getting tired. After last lap, I decided I'll take an easy lap around and get off.

I get to turn 4 which is a pretty easy left hander. I usually take this turn way faster when I'm trying. This time I went in slower but used way less brakes on entry. I still wanted to make a clean apex but I f'ed up my entry. To make the apex I over compensated. This would be fine but with my lazy tired a$$, I had too much weight on left clip on. This is something I've been super anal. I got good at using my core and legs riding tracks that are SUUUPER bumpy which would otherwise smack you down (if you used your arms to support yourself). But this time I wasn't careful. I saw it coming a mile away and it was almost like slow motion but didn't have it in me to save it.

Simple slide on the asphalt on my a$$, little airborn off the curb, little slide on the dirt to a stop. I got up immediately and nothing was hurting.

The bike has scraped and bent foot peg and throttle stuck. Dunno how that happened since I fell on the left but I'll figure it out. Should be simple. Already crashed bodywork banged up a bit more but nothing's broken on it.

Bike should be back tip top shape in no time and with very little $$. I even have spare footpegs.

Suit on the other hand.... Destroyed I got a lot of use and 2 years/2 crashes out of the thing so I guess it's time to look for a new one. It really doesn't look repairable. There's 2 huge holes at the a$$ and another huge hole on the left arm. I doubt it can be patched safely.

Go Pro 3 managed to stop recording again so no video of the crash, sadly. Also no photos because minimal damage and didn't think it was worth sharing.

Next time I'll be monitoring my endurance a bit more carefully. I was going snail speed compared to all day but didn't stop me from crashing. Always stop the session/trackday while you're on top boys and girls.

Nice seeing you and chatting with you @dino74!

Very sorry to read about your mishap, Gurk

You may have been dehydrated by when you couldn't negotiate that curve.

It is a great thing that you didn't get hurt !!!

You might be right. I did drink wayyyy less than I usually do today. Normally I go through a ton of water.

In the end it boils down to another simple rider error though oh well.

When temperature is high and the air is dry, the body loses tons of water without feeling it.

Copied from the link below:

"Dehydration symptoms generally become noticeable after 2% of one's normal water volume has been lost.....
Athletes may suffer a loss of performance of up to 30% and experience flushing, low endurance, rapid heart rates, elevated body temperatures, and rapid onset of fatigue......
Experiments by the USDA's Agricultural Research Service have shown that dehydration is associated with confusion, fatigue, and negative moods."

Hope you will be rolling soon !!!

A lot of people were crashing....like red flags almost every 10-15 mins. The funny thing is that on Sunday the bikes that were on the crash truck were mostly ducatis.

That sucks, hope it's an easy fix. Sounds like rider fatigue to me. What brand suit was it?

Dainese Laguna Seca Pro. It survived a pretty gnarly crash last year in April. This is the second crash. So it did its job really..

I used to have one of those. A couple minor crashes destroyed it. Replace it with a Pilot Suit. You won't be disappointed. They are worth every dollar. I've high sided once and low sided once and structurally the suit is perfect. It's a little rashed up, but core of the suit is great!

@Trailerboy531 wears a LSP. That's all the endorsement that suit needs.

Me thinks being in Max's presence causes you to crash. Max = Bad Mojo

Hmmmm, Gurk DID blow out a tire on the way back from Max's birthday trackday, and his bad luck HAS been known to be contagious. Coincidence?

Max's bad luck rubbed on me on labor day and things have been going really ****** since then. It was his birthday too so that's extra bad luck. I should just stay in my bed for a month to make sure I don't die.
