Thumbs up Buying a used 09 Ninja 250R

I'm looking for my first bike and decided on a ninja 250R! I found a used bike on craigslist from 2009. It only has 1820 miles on it and has had one owner. It has some cosmetic damage on both sides due to two small falls around 5 mph. The owner is asking $2100 for it which seems reasonable but when I asked them about maintenance they haven't done any. They haven't changes the oil in the 5 years they owned it, missing the 600 mile service. I'm wondering if this would cause any concerns?! The bike is still at low miles and I'd switch the oil right away but want to make sure I'm not getting a bike that will end up with problems down the road. This would be my first bike so i want to make sure I'm spending more time enjoying it than fixing it! Also are there any extra tips you have about buying your first bike??
Thanks for the help!

Cool

Welcome, Brian !!!

An old bike with few miles is bad news, unless the engine is now running and starting up properly.

Bad news means that you will have to perform a good cleaning for all the fuel system, from tank to carburetors.
Not difficult work to do yourself if you have the room and tools, but expensive if you have to pay a shop.

Welcome Brian!

$2100 for a 09 bike that hasn't had it's first oil change, plus some cosmetic issues sounds a bit on the high side imho.

Hi, Brian! Welcome to the group!

If it runs well, do the maintenance that needs doing and you'll be fine.
