Where did you get it one sale for that price. At $399 it would be worth the chance.
I don't have time for a super duper full report but....

I arrived at the track with the genny and a 5 gallon jug of gas just for the genny.

11:45PM - wake up
Started the genny around 11:45 on Fri. night with a full tank of gas.
Plugged in my transponder to charge, yea... I forgot to charge it.

6:50AM
Genny was still running when I woke up in the am at 6:50
Refilled gas tank & plugged in tire warmers + kept transponder plugged in
Ran a single set of tire warmers on and off for the sessions of the morning

12:00 Noon
Refilled gas tank at lunch; plugged in radio, tire warmers + transponder
Genny ran the tire warmers, transponder, radio and charged phone for the remainder of the afternoon sessions

5:30pm
Unplugged tire warmers for the night + continued to charge phone, transponder and listen to radio

7:30pm
Ran outta gas - refill
No change in plugged in items

10:30pm - wake up
Refilled tank
Unplugged phone and transponder
Plugged in small space heater (1500w)
Unplugged everything for 5 mins to run a small air compressor to fill a tire

7:30am
Out of gas sometime during the night
Refilled tank
Unplugged heater
Plugged in tire warmers + transponder + phone

9:00am
Plugged and unplugged tire warmers for race practice sessions

10:15am
Transponder fully charged and was taken off genny and put on the bike
Tire warmers + radio + phone

12:30pm - Race 1
Tire warmers unplugged, phone charged and unplugged
Radio plugged in
Friends phone plugged in

1:00pm
Tire warmers, radio, friends phone plugged in

2:30pm - Race 2
Radio plugged in
Friends phone plugged in

3:40pm
Turned everything off and packed up to haul home

Total gas usage was an estimated 4.3 gallons without any problems powering anything I wanted. I got this at a discount via a friend. These little gennys are only sold at home depot (new). My friend is a contractor and he added it to a HUGE deck lumber order and I just paid my friend.

Seems like it could be a viable alternative to the eu2000i. Those little Honda genis are amazing but they are like $1k. May look into it further. When I am at the track with my brother and we bring the hauler we have a Honda 7000 so power is a non issue lol, but hauling that big sucker around is not practical unless you are bringing the whole kit

I have a little portable craftsman generator like that, tiny four stroke.

I got it out of the garbage and put a carb on it with an old piece of radiator hose. Runs nice. Needs a capacitor to make it generate again.

But free works.

I save it for a shareable Genny. lol Dont like to loan out the Kubota that my family has.

I think I want to watchout for a Ryobi like that for camping and what not.

:snerk: Now *why* would you need heated gloves? It never gets cold in California.

Haha, I was expecting and predicting that comment, believe it or not (especially after the winterizing thread).

I get cold quick as you can attest to me bitching about my hands during our ride together. They were so cold, it was hard to kind of focus a little, which isn't good. I need to get some waterproof gloves next, to match the liner and I'll be set. I plan on getting the Powerlet jacket liner too, at some point. My core didn't do too bad with the gear I had, but a little extra warmth would have made it a wee bit more comfortable. I'm the one that usually wears 5 layers of clothing during our "winter" or a sweater in our air conditioned office.

I bought the new Sena 20S, despite the mixed reviews about it.
http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/s...etooth-headset

Honestly I think the sound is really good for what it is. With or without earplugs. The radio actually works better than I thought it would. Call quality is pretty good too, people can't tell I'm on a motorcycle. And the ambient mode is a subtle but helpful feature. It uses an external mic to amplify the noise outside your helmet. The difference is not drastic at all (only becomes noticeable when volume is at 100%), but it's enough to understand people in the drive-thru better. As far as intercom goes, I haven't tried it yet. I don't have people to ride with that own headsets.

Overall, there were a few hiccups with it but I can't say I wasted my money, yet. haha. But it definitely made riding more enjoyable for me. Other people really really love riding. But I find riding, in silence, with no destination.. *insanely* boring. But now that I can use music to entertain myself more, I may take more frequent joy rides.

Man, I wish there was a Cycle Gear closer than an hour and a half drive. Of course, if I drive all the way there I get to go to the Motorcycle Superstore outlet, too...

Might have to make a drive this weekend, I need some cold weather overpants!

Having paired my SMH5 with antiant's 20 and also with a friend's 10, I can tell you the 20 comes through amazingly clear! I loved having someone to talk with that came across with zero distortion, static, crackling, etc. It really did sound as if we were just standing next to each other in a quiet room.

Least until a mountain got between us.

Alpinestars Celer Leather Jacket - Black, Red & Anthracite , I love it ! Think my trousers are the standard missle ones, I can't quite remember.

You got a photo of your jacket? Don't think I've seen that colour scheme yet, I love the alpinestars gear! Not exactly cheap but you can see where your money's going

@Jason5885, if you don't mind sharing.. What is your chest size and what is the size of your jacket? I'm researching for a leather jacket for next year, and real life people offer better information than internet reviews.

Sure , I'll check tomorrow as I'm posting from bed lol. I ordered mine from the US, took a few weeks to get over and was the most nerve racking experience of my life unwrapping it and trying it on.

But they had them a month ago - three pairs left. this time when I went back they had one pair left and it was my size. I splurged and blew 50$ on gloves.

Thats a lotta green for me lol

You picked up some nice gear. How do you like those A* pants?

I am waiting to get a pair of riding pants. Right now I have Icon denim.

Man, sometimes the gear requires the green.. As long as it does it's job!

They're the Alpinestars Bregenz pants.. waterproof, very warm. They're much thicker than jeans, but they have a removable liner! I had jeans on underneath them in those pictures, and they still felt very light with no loss of mobility. Can't report on their long distance comfort, but for the light usage so far, all is well. Definitely will get some riding jeans/leather pants for next summer.

Are they grippy in the saddle? I want a pair that doesnt slide around on the seat. I am looking for some good all weather pants that ride nice.

Differences in amount of sliding between textile/jean/leather is negligible under normal conditions. As long as you're not trying to drag a knee or lean off the bike, you'll be fine.

Of course, there may be a correlation between butt size and slide amount, though I'm not sure about that one.. LOL

@Jason5885, textiles are almost always cheaper than leathers.. Typically, they are less abrasion resistant, but offer the same impact protection plus WAY more weather protection. That jacket/pant will take me through any cold and wet my trips from TN to WI has to offer!

These particular guys:

$150(~94 BP Sterling) A* Gunner WP Jacket

$170(~107 BP Sterling) A* Bregenz Pants

I never knew Textiles were so cheap! My leather jacket alone was around $700! I really need to look into them because right now its -1C / 30 F and the winter hasn't even begun here lol.

Thanks for the prices, going to look into it

If you're going to ride into sub 0C, then I'd suggest heated gear. It's rather expensive up front, but will pay for itself over and over again in practicality. A vest, under pants, gloves, and boot liners will keep you substantially warmer than any amount of clothes will do. If you're planning on any multi-hour rides in the cold, eventually you'll be freezing, even if you start with 1000 layers. If you just ride smaller distances, heated gear may not be necessary.

Just ride with what you have and replace/add to your collection when you find a void needing filled or a requirement needing met.

Picked up some Handroids from STG's Black Friday sale; the old Biomech's they're replacing on the right. Now just need the warm weather to enjoy them.

Nice Jason!

I picked up a windscreen for my 08 r6 and a set of plugs for my 06 r6. I got the windscreen for free from another rider that just wanted nothing more than to help someone.

I hit refresh like 10 times...
I quoted the post to make sure...

But still, your post seems to be missing the pic of the bike that goes along with all this dirt gear.
