Low Side

Just a reminder to everyone Check your Tire pressures. Just got a bike running today and didn't bother checking the tire pressure. Decided I would just head down to the gas station which is 2 blocks away and make sure they are spot on.
Sure enough low sided making a left hand turn breaking my awesome sweet golden adjustable levers and custom aluminum bar. Scraped Knee that is all.
Tire Pressure was 0...
CHECK THOSE TIRE PRESSURES!~

Keep a bike bump around, they can actually pump up a bike tire fairly quickly. Heal up quick and stop crashing that thing!

The Pressure was probably around 8 in the rear and it didn't read at all on the front. ( I was using the ****** Gas station gauge) Yeah I need to get a Bike Pump : / never again. I did notice it but the bike also has different suspension so I assumed that was why it felt weird and I had the all excited feeling you know where you are like I don't care I'm on a motorcycle? I'm off to go ride bike is ready to go!

ambient air pressure at sea level is 14psi so it would be somewhere above that.

Yes, but remember that an air pressure gauge isn't reading ambient air pressure, it's reading a difference between two pressures; the pressure inside the tire and the outside air pressure. Notice how you can hold a pressure gauge outside all day long and it will always read zero?

It's very possible that Wesley's pressure gauge read <14 psi. But he really NEEDS TO CHECK HIS TIRE PRESSURES AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK!!!

Even if it's the only maintenance you do on your bike, it may just be very close to the most important! Lot's of bad things will happen to the bike if you don't perform other maintenance, but this one directly effects you. lol. Buy one of those cheap tire pressure gauges and keep it under your pillion seat with your tool kit!

Or just live in PA where we have these fantastic tire filler up'ers!

find a local farm auction or similar and you could probably pick one of these or similar up for cheap:

Glad your ok...coulda been worse!

I always carry a small 12v air comp. In my Pannier bag...I know it's not practical for everyone but if you have the space you should have one and a tire plug kit in case of punture. If you don't want to wire up a 12v outlet you can cut and splice alligator clamps in place of the 12v male plug on the compressor. Battery tender quick disconnects are another option as well.

Wrong. It varies by altitude and weather. So assuming you are talking about a standard atmosphere, that would be 14.696 psi at sea level.

You're welcome Rob.

To the OP; good reminder on the importance of checking tire pressure.

Check your tire pressure, check it often, especially if you have Diabeetus.

If the bolts of both tripple's are not torqued down properly, yes, it can get twisted easily.

However, it is a frequent occurrence during even mild falls.

You will need to loose those bolts and straight the forks up to the normal position............you may need to apply 1 Bar of twisting pressure on the opposite direction.
