New Member - Hawaii

Hey, wassupp everyone. Im from Kauai but on Oahu for school. At the moment im in the middle of a deal for a red 2010 ninja 250r with only 1,300 miles. I was going to wait until i get the bike to sign up with the forums, but since lurking the site for a week, i got tired of not being able to see certain links or pictures.

up until i came upon this site, i was convinced i was going to start with a 600cc for my first bike. before i get flamed for that on my 1st post heres a small background..lol...i rode a friends pre-gen off and on since 2008 and on the 12th of this month i completed my MSF course. I passed with 100 for written and road test. instructor said my skills were pretty advanced and he's lookin forward to seeing me in the advanced course next year. since passing the MSF, i got a chance to ride a friends Suzuki SV650 and another friends Yamaha R6. so i know i'll be able to handle 600cc's...man..they're addicting.

after browsing through the site for a while i came to my senses to start with a ninjette because 1.insurance(im a college student remember) 2. it will not see too much freeway time. 3.dont think im goin over 90mph anytime soon, esp if there is no track here :/ 4. i need to turn the newly developed riding skills into second nature and form GOOD riding habits..

ATTN Kkim: i recognize you from kawi forums..lol..im your sons friend and your daughters classmate..hows it goin?

when i do pick up the bike, i'll be sure to post pictures

You sound very sensible in your approach to riding... good for you. Not many young'uns now a days are that smart.

Just take it easy and learn your lessons well... riding on Oahu is something I would dread. There are many members on ninjette.org from Oahu. Hopefully you'll get to meet them and ride with them in the future.

nice. i do plan on meeting them in the near future. Ive been riding a moped in town for a long time now and yes, some drivers should not be on the road at all...now its time to upgrade from moped motorcycle so i can ride around more than just in town

wassup Gary, thanks...but not quite yet..lol...its still in the process...hopefully i can pick up the bike between 2nite and next wednesday...i wanna ride her already

..about mods..first on the list is to get that blinking modulator for the tails and some LED tail lights and blinker lights...i wanna be SEEN..after that...either exhaust or the bracket to move the rear sets back....first and foremost is getting the bike before i can do anything to her
