yes, working within the venturi...a guitar string (larger diameter than used for pilot jets) lodged into the venturi drilling to press and pop the tip out. There may be carbon clogging the tip so a shot of cleaner may help dislodge.
Its a minute, extremely tight workspace , but as evidenced by my pic, can be done. in my case, long discarded carbs, and carbon around the tip froze it to the drilling, broke upon removing the pilot screw. The fuel deposits eventually solidify and act like epoxy..hence freezing jets and fuel metering surfaces. No secrets there. So, you a geetar player? If memory serves a B or G string fits. As comes in varying diameters within sets, I can't remember the actual measurement I used. And for any worry-wart surgical types wondering...the string will not maul the pilot opening...even if any tiny, minute opening did occur, fuel delivery would be compensated for via adjustment within correct, standard pilot setting procedure anyway. So doanworryboudit. OP if you are truly stuck and so inclined, i'm at your service.

The broken tip can be pressed in from carb venturi side.
There may be anodic corrosion from dissimilar metals touching. An ammonia-based cleaner can dissolve this corrosion and free up tip. |
