150/60 Tire + Passenger

Wussup everyone. This is my first post but I have been following forums for about 4 months now. I've looked around and have not found an answer to this question. Can i carry a passenger on my 08 Ninja with a 150/60 tire? Or will 150 tire not allow me to carry a passenger? Thanks for the help.

First of all, welcome to the forums or at least posting to the forums... secondly, what exactly are you thinking the 150/60 will or will not do that having or not having a passenger would matter?

I have a 150/60 and have ridden 2up with no issues... but was just curious as to what you thought might or might not make it possible

I dont see why not.
The only caveat to a 150 tire is that the rim pinches the tire a bit. There are plenty of people racing 150's on the back of the 250R, so I dont think your passenger would create a problem...unless they weigh 300lbs or something.

I'm sure that would cause issues, making the tire, the least of concerns

Thanks everyone. Wasn't sure if the weight of extra passenger will affect the space of bigger tire.

The closest thing to touching a 150 is the chain guard, and even then there is 5mm or so of clearance. So again...unless the person is REALLY heavy, it's not going to rub anywhere.

Welcome! Depending on the weight of your passenger it will rub a hugger if you have one, at least on the brake reservoir. Bump up the rear shock to at least setting 3 if your passenger is 130+lbs. If you get a pre-gen your SOL.

The tire is on the list yes... but the shock setting is waaaaaayyyyy more important.
