I have one of Koso's gauge. Love it! Even if the fuel indicator is a lot goofy.

Replaced my low beam for the first time. Standing in the Pep Boys parking lot, 95 degrees and wearing a riding jacket (i thought it was going to be a quicker job) while fumbling with the retainer clip that I can't even get a peek at. I've used these clips on cars before and never had a problem. Took me about 15 minutes to complete the job. And I wish I could tell you the next time will be much quicker.

.. it won't be.

Today I added something small, but still super helpful. I frequently confuse which direction I'm going if I used a gps to get somewhere and then attempt to get home without it, so I added a little compass. This is just for navigational purposes while riding; I have a better quality one in my tail pack.

Got gas again today and was able to calculate my MPG. ~40. Not too shabby considering I was certain that it was sub-30.

I'm a noob and probably shifting quite poorly.

I'm also planning on doing a Sea Foam treatment to the oil and fuel very soon. Just need to make a new corner in the garage to work on the bike.

bondo, paint, license plate, tail light, flasher relay

This is my first post to ninjette. I have been working on my build for about a month now. I went from taking my side fairings off to fiberglass seat cowl. I finished my body filler, sanding and paint on the cowl today and mounting my license plate w/ light and brake light. It was a long day, but I am officially street legal. Well, kind of. My trail tech gauge speedometer isn't working. I may have to reset and double check all the numbers.

spent 20 minutes looking for a bolt on the side of the road then home 50 miles using 3rd gear only

$14 for a bolt

Edit:
On the 300 you only need 3rd. It lugs from a stop even on an incline and hits the limiter at 70mph

Locktight is your friend lol

Used my 250 head as a guinea pig to try and make an intake and exhaust port mold. I think I should have used the 300 head first. Oh well. If the 250 works out, I'll make them for the 300 too. After all is done I'm going to cc them.

I'm interested in a review of how the wind pressure changes. That looks like a knock off double bubble, right?

Any fitment issues or concerns that you can see right off?

Yes it is the double bubble and fitment was exactly perfect, rarely can you get something that's a knockoff fit as well as it did. Seems like the wind hits a bit higher up but only got a chance to scoot around town for a few, so it will be a few days till i get out on the highway and see how much difference it really makes at speed.
Sucks to have used aluminum bolts to secure it with and had to drill one out cause it stripped, so i can without a doubt say, do not buy the ebay windscreen aluminum screw kit as the aluminum is too soft and will strip after the second or third time you remove them.

tightened the chain and rode it around in some local twisties

omg my 300 feels so much smoother in the twisties now, I'd glanced down at my speed on corner exit at a few points and was shocked at how much quicker I was going compared to just a week ago and I didn't really even feel like I was moving since I was riding at a flowing pace instead of a frantic one. Track days work at improving skills

in the middle of rejet, pod clean, clutch cover swap, spark plug change, oil change, valve inspection, coolant flush, chain adjustment, and whatever else the hell I find while she is down. really don't want to have to pull the cams for one damn shim (not to mention ordering, and waiting, and all that jazz).

I took some time off from work today to take care of a few chores I'd been putting off.

- Replaced fork seals (right side was leaking a bit).
- Replaced brake pads (front & back), replaced brake fluid.
- Found that my front caliper was sticking a bit due to corrosion. Cleaned it.

Cleaned the everliving bejesus out of the front + rear sprocket, the sprocket cover, the chain guard, the chain, the swingarm, and all the stuff near the front sprocket that was completely covered with flung-off grime. Chunks, piles, entire rags-worth of filth and grit. Also lubed all the thangs. Hell yeah, nice and shiny now.

finally got around to doing my valve check adjustment at 10k miles. All my valves except 1 of my intakes was out of spec

The exhaust valves were all pretty far out.

Took longer than i expected but was double, triple checking things. Got the engine back together, new plugs, put the fuel tank on and it fired up, all seemed well. Thought the bike sounded better than before i did the adjustment.

Still have a few things i need to finish, get the rear wheel back on ( i got a new tire) and drop a main jet size just to see how it feels. Probably do that tomorrow.

Now that i have done the adjustment once, i feel like i could do it again in half the time.

Learned a lesson about brake maintenance when I checked after admittedly too long and discovered that not only do I need new brake pads like, 2 months ago but now I need a new rear rotor.

I hate being poor.

He now needs new clutch plates, an oil change, a valve service, new brake pads, a new rotor or two.
Little buddy is ****ing hanging in there, though. My boy.

Wanted to check my Drift HD Ghost mic placement, so I took a little ride out to a rural area. Some video was good, other parts had too much wind noise. Will go back to the drawing board and place my mic elsewhere. Eventually, I'll figure out the best place to put it.

Edit: Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Finally got a chance to see how the Corbin seat feels, it's awesome! Way better than stock and doesn't hurt my nether regions. Got such a great deal.

Got the rear wheel mounted again after getting a new tire put on at the shop. Cleaned chain.

Dropped a main jet size, went from a 110 down to a 108 (full exhaust + pods)

Took it for a quick spin, it felt pretty good especially at WOT. Will ride it for a week or two to really feel it out. Might actually get it to a dyne soon as well just for funnzies.

Ah well, at least it's a fun kind of poor.

I cleaned and lubed the chain, then went out riding for an hour on some backroads.

Hilariously enough, I ride because it's STILL cheaper than having a car. My beater sucked me dry til the moment I sold it. At least my bike isn't literally falling apart. Everything happening to him is my fault, really.

Saturday I got the Pirelli DRII tires installed - OMG, night and day difference! Also, in the process of having them installed, my tire tech noticed the alignment stamps for the rear are about 1/8" off. So that explains a lot of my complaint about the IRC Road Winners feeling like they were always walking all over the freaking road. I'm sort of peeved that the dealership never checked the alignment on a brand new bike... Oh well... love the DRIIs and how they make the bike handle!

Installed the SW-Motech mirror wideners and now I can actually see behind me without having the tuck my elbows in! What a novel concept!!

I finally have the bike set up exactly the way I want it. Now I just need more time to ride the heck out of it.

Not in my experience. In the last year my 97 Chevy has had an oil change and a 99-point inspection (nothing needed replacement or repair). The year before that, the same plus a new battery. The old bucket has 178,000 miles on it.

In the last four months, my Ninja has needed new tires and brake pads, had a caliper rebuild, fork seals replaced, and an oil change. Oh, and I paid $80 for a new pair of gloves.

Plus the insurance is cheaper for my car than my motorcycle! I only ride because I enjoy it, not because I think there's anything affordable about it.

$14 for a bolt

Edit:
On the 300 you only need 3rd. It lugs from a stop even on an incline and hits the limiter at 70mph
installed a missing bolt
