Airbox removal + Kleen air removal?
Hey Everyone,
SO I removed the airbox and got my single K&N air filter installed along with my crankcase vent filter. Now, I am left over with a number of hoses that go nowhere! Am I supposed to be removing the Kleen air system as well? If so, I guess I will have to buy a plug and some more piping There is also a hose that connects right on top of the carbs that goes nowhere... (right next to the butterfly valve adjuster) That's not part of the kleen air system, so where does it go?!? Would love to be helped out so I can get her running again |

Well that solves that problem! Thanks!
Now do I remove the kleen air system to get rid of the extra hoses that went to the airbox? I can't find a thread on both the airbox and those hoses |

You should remove the kleen air system or atleast plug/pinch it. I believe it has negative suction (suck), so things might get in there. There are block off plates you can install, http://www.slingshotracing.net/catal...ate-p-204.html
There is also a Uni breather filter you can install. But that is no good in the Vancouver rain. Also, if you decide to order the block off plate, please PM me if you don't mind ordering two and splitting the shipping cost to Canada (I'm in Surrey). Here's the DIY thread: http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=9948 |

Thanks for the help!
I actually ended up removing and plugging it up before you even got back to replying! I'm actually interested in those block off plates because they seem more "reliable" than a simple plug made of rubber. I'll pm you about it. |

I'm sure those plugs are just fine in the reliability department. The block-off plates just look better.

IMHO it removes a failure point, which is always a good thing, but in reality, it probably is more something I would do for peace of mind and just to have a cleaner install. |
