Red face Pink & White Ninja 250 (Plasti Dip)!

Here's a video of pictures of the transformation of my bike to pink and white using plasti dip and regular spray paint! The process was HELL, every mistake that could have been made, we made it! Good thing is, if you make a mistake, you peel it right off and start over. Bad thing about that is waste of time and money If you're limited with time, a good space to paint, and money, I wouldn't suggest plasti dipping your whole bike. We did it in a little abandoned dumpster with wind blowing, dust particles everywhere, --- it was BAD, but we made it work the hard way.

I'm pretty sure I know plasti dip inside out now, so if anyone's considering it and has questions, ask away! I'll also be uploading a detailed video of the process + a video of my bike showing it up close later.

Enjoy!

Link to original page on YouTube.

(If anyone would like, I could post the pics up here individually as well, just thought it would be easier compiled into a video)

Yes. Waste of money in my opinion. It barely gave a shine, it was expensive, AND it made dust particles stick underneath the white and gave it a "yellow" or "beige"ish tint. I regret buying it. After I applied, I peeled it all off and the paint looked so much better without it. It might work better with black plasti dip but for WHITE , I DO NOT recommend it. I ended up buying store gloss and using that for a shine and sealant instead

Thanks! No worries, I NEVER ride without my boots! I'm pretty good when it comes to gearing up. I just got new pink SIDI boots too, so I'm good to go

Love what you've done to your bike, though I think it needs some more gloss? Try spraying a couple of coats of clear on top maybe? to give it that extra shine?

Time to powder coat the rims!

I might have to try something like this, though with a little less pink

@SanaryKiss - Nice! How do you deal with masking? I can never get a clean peel when taking off the masking, even when I score it with a blade first.

Lay on multiple coats quickly and peel before they dry...

Thanks! How long do you wait between coats, and how many do you do? 3 coats with 30 minutes in between hasn't worked out so well for me.

This is what you're doing wrong. The trick with plastidip is to NOT let it dry before peeling the masking. Spray 3 coats WITHIN a span of 15mins and peel.

I just used blue painters tape to tape up the line I want just to get the outline. Then I get newspaper to cover any other parts that I don't want to get paint on. I think the trick is that after painting, you can't wait too long. Maybe about 15-20 minutes? Then I just peeled off the tape and it was pretty clean straight lines.

Wait- Am I understanding your question correctly? haha

So let's talk about those decals. Did you design them, where'd you get them, how easy/hard was such a large design to put on?

Let it cure/harden a couple of weeks then buff it with a polishing compound, should shine it right up. Just have to be careful not to burn the paint if using a power buffer.
