Nope, it has her face on it, and I don't want to do anything like that without her permission. I respect everyone on this board too much to do that.
Ok....almost everyone.

Anyone who has a pencil set, please inform me why ANYONE would want to use a lead harder than 2H? My set goes up to 9H. Really??? I have to press down on the pencil like I am driving a tent stake into the ground in order to see ANYTHING.
Pointless...completely pointless for an art application. I could somewhat understand for drafting, but that is mainly autocad or mechanical pencils. I just don't get it.

@Jiggles...permission was granted.
Honestly, it isn't my best work in Photoshop. If I had a higher resolution picture of her, then it would have ended up a lot better. For all you others out there, I got super bored and "modified" @AznJoJo. That was in reference to her bewbs comment earlier. Now Jiggles can have his cheap thrill. LOL

Yo, I am not sure what are you doing... Copying off the photos? Cuz it appears like you aren't drawing real live people... Have you done drawings of real people, not off a photo? I see you often polish small details before putting down the big picture so to speak... that means your proportions may be way off unless you have a real photo in front of you and can sot of "measure" it. And, frankly, there is no life in these pix - no mood, just a bunch of facial features... sorry to sound like a b**d, but, that's what I see...
Also, have you tried an auto-portrait? In the mirror, not off the photos... try it, I am sure it will be fun |

I'm not trying for something that looks alive. That takes more time than I wish to put into a drawing. I am practicing. I am not trying to become a full time artist either, so to me it is a non-issue.
And yes, I draw from images, but I merely look at it as a simplistic reference. I do not want an exact copy. I change things up in my head. Oh and have you priced live models? Models for hire are not cheap. You could say I could go somewhere public and draw people, but I am not a professional artist. Therefore, I use pictures out of convenience. (that and working night shift doesn't help) The larger pad is a change of pace for me, so I have to tweak my style of drawing slightly.

Well, you can draw your relatives or friends... it won't cost a penny and they will be tickled, try it... or try a self-portrait. It will be a huge difference...
If you want to be a good artist (not a f/t one, but a good one), you need to practice things differently... obviously this is none of my business so I'll shut up... I think, though, you would agree that there is a lot more to riding a bike than doing 100 in a straight line... to new riders, it looks awesome; to experienced ones, not so much. |

Well, my family isn't big on photos, so drawing would be out the window as well.
On a side note, I used to care about impressing people with my drawings. I mean I did all I could to draw the best drawings possible. Two things happened when I did that, first off I learned that I could never make everyone happy. There was always someone who thought I should do things differently. That got frustrating, because I really did try to grow as an artist. Secondly, my striving for perfection sucked every ounce of enjoyment out of drawing. So much so that I put it down for over 8 years. I just got back into it and it is fun again. Mainly because I just draw to enjoy drawing. I do sit back and look at art books on occasion. My jaw drops on how good those people are. Then I remember, I am simply having fun, I am not trying to get anywhere with my drawings. I am just enjoying my time behind the pad. On a side note, I am also working my way away from copying stuff. I used to be known as the human xerox machine back in high school. Now I am trying to get my proportions down where I can draw from my memory banks, and get everything right. That is all I'm working on. I must say, much easier getting it right on a smaller sketch pad.

I blacked out the naughty bits on all but the last image....click the links to see them (continuing progression of drawing from last image post)
Image 5 Image 6 Image 7 Image 8 Image 9 Here you go Jigs...the full version (click to open full image) NSFW: This one took me a few hours. I just used a 2B lead for the entire thing. So the shading was particularly time consuming.

Now I picked up my ANCIENT digital tablet and I am messing around in photoshop...sketching.
Man this thing stinks. I may need to look into upgrading this. Trying not to though. Hoping to stick with this one. I really don't need to spend $200 on a Wacom Bamboo Create. How AWESOME it would be to have one though!

Changed up some brushes and did this in PS. I cannot use the darkness level I desire with the lack of sensitivity on this old tablet. So I have to crank down the flow to about 50% to get this outcome.
Just a quick sketch with the new brush...
