One Week Till I Pop My Cherry (sfw)

A basically brand new track with a hill that you can get air on. Nice elevation changes, and my 2nd family is tagging along. Can't wait!

The rather portly gentleman had much better lines, was smooth and graceful, compared to the cameraman.

The cameraman was more point and pounce where as "big boy" was letting the track flow to him.

This track looks like fun (don't they all).

it was actually quite interesting to see the heavier set man have quicker corner and exit speeds.

slow is smooth. smooth is fast

Lol. Just be prepared to be majorly humbled and be almost disappointed by any track pictures you buy. I love my first track day pictures because as cool as they are, they remind me about that humbling experience when I learned what fast really looks like. I'm not a fast rider.

Just putting this out there. You aren't Rossi. You won't be Rossi. You won't set a lap record. You won't get air. You likely will be disappointed by your terrible BP or lean angle or whatever in your pictures. But you'll have a total blast doing it and it will be the most exciting thing you've ever done up to this point in your life. Go out there and get some!!!! But remember the first sentences of this paragraph and leave the ego at home.

I'm sure you've had the "I'm just testing the waters to see if the track is for me" conversation with yourself.

You're doomed as doomed can be, dontcha know.

Welcome to the addiction!

As a fellow noob, a few tips:

1) Your first day's objective is to not crash. That's it. Really.

2) If they offer debriefing/class time, take full advantage. You're paying for it whether you go or not!

3) Focus on just one or two things every time you go out. The more you try to work on everything, the less progress you'll make on any one thing.

4) Stay hydrated. What REALLY worked for me was a jug of Pedialyte in the cooler. Every session I'd drink some and felt great all day long, two days running. You're young so you're more resilient, but at my age it's harder to stay sharp.

By the end of that first track weekend I'd accomplished more than I thought I would. Chicken strips well and truly gone. First experience with for-real trail braking. Discovery of how AMAZINGLY powerful brakes really are. Still haven't dragged a knee....

You're SO gonna love this....

That track looks really fun. Very flowing, lots of blind corners and elevation changes. Kinda like my two home tracks.

seconded, the red mist will make you crash faster than eminem can speak

also novice at nyst won't allow you to get air until later in the day anyway but most novice riders shouldn't be going quick enough to lift more than just the front wheel afaik
