Well you. Duh.

Have you seen video of chains coming off at speed? It's deadly!

This weekend is an "open" weekend meaning that there is no private org renting the track.

What this means is that there is no tech inspection. If something is noticeably wrong like bodywork hanging off or license plates still attached you will get "meatball flagged" and required to fix it.

In regards to your chain- clicking is bad. It means unnecessary friction and more heat. If a chain seizes or snaps at speed- even on a 250 it can detonate the engine, lock up your rear wheel or can catapult off and become a missile to other riders. Clean it as best you can- focus on the links that are stiff. Cleaning might free them up- if not, please buy a new chain. I don't want to be hit by a flying chain

Thanks guys. I couldn't find much information on when you should replace a chain. I ordered new chain and sprockets but will be doing the gear oil and diesel fuel trick this weekend. I also am not sure on how to adjust tension on my bike because it lacks fairings so I have just been setting 2 inches on the rear stand of slack, which tightens to about 1.5in with me on it

When to replace a change is simple really. Replace if any of the following conditions exist.

Visible damage
Clicking that is not solved by lube or returns shortly after lube
Chain will not stay within slack spec
Chain stretched beyond adjuster/axle specs

phew just had a scare, went to start the truck to go longboarding and it wouldn't start. Clicking noise led me to believe it was the starter, not the cheapest part in the world for sure. Jacked it up to check it and discovered it was missing a bolt and the other bolt was hanging on by a thread luckily I managed to hop on the bike over to ace hardware and pick up the bolt needed and it's all good

I could be interested in joining up around atlanta/macon or so

I am more than happy to haul ya but... if you want your truck and such available at a moments notice and you go that far, might as well drive the rest of the way. Jennings is only 4 more hours past macon. ijs

Offer still stands homie, if you want to save some serious gas $$$, hook up with me near cincy. If cincy is about the same trip as Mid-O for you, then lemme pick you up there. Not only that, I gotz mad driving stamina. You can arrive at the track fully rested and ready to ride.

Let me re-phrase...

If my wife and kids join we will be at the Days Inn in Lake City. They likely won't join so I will bring the tent and sleeping bag- and possibly space heater. Club racer on a budget here

I thought you ran track days at Homestead. If you can ride there you can ride Jennings. Actually, Jennings is better to improve your skills,

I'm getting a new rear tire and a bike service Oct 13, so she'll be good and ready for Jennings!
I'll be in novice because, well, I'm a permanoob. Just how I roll.
Which days are most folks riding? I'm in for Saturday and Sunday.

This is not entirely true-

The CR will tell you that passing on the inside is not allowed and passing on the outside is only allowed when there is no avoiding it. They prefer passing only in the straights for novice group.

Intermediate can pass on the outside as long as there is 6 foot buffer- inside is still frowned upon.

Advanced can pass when ever and where ever they are faster.

Odds are no one will complain unless you are making dirty passes
