sidenote: I'm off by 45 seconds

My imaginary laps are ~45s faster than the real lap times, I think I'm skipping past the straights a bit because all the corners are there and I can see the braking points and turn in points in my mind

Gsxr is confirmed, can't wait to rip the track up on that thing, I think I may bring both bikes to ensure I can ride if noise regulations try to screw me over

Yea, price on the website was 4 big faces. I got a call into them because there seems to be some conflicting pricing info. Hoping to get a $75 credit. You are the 3rd person to pay the $400.

We will see....

I can live with the $400, but if they knock it back to what it was before then I definitely won't have any issues with that. Is that 3 people total that have paid or did some people get the $325?

Some got the $325, 3 others paid the $400. There are most likely more and will be more as more riders buy spots. So far, looks like a good turnout of 20+ riders, maybe more by go time.

Last year there was 34 of us. We were over 1/3rd of the paddock and half the riders out in any given session. It's sooo cool to come up on someone you know just about every lap.

Next year @alex.s... it's on brah!!! I got your bike on lock. You wanna ride an r6 next time around?

@Sirref - Dood... the weather is kinda cool in the evening/overnight. I will have a 20 degree sleeping bag for you, but you need to plan for the worst case. That is, that I don't make the gate close time on Fri. 43 degrees is no fun and a lends itself to a pretty sh*tty nights sleep. Make sure you plan on the worst for Fri's sleeping arrangements, because I might not be there until Sat. morning.

And speaking of sleeping arrangements, I am NOT planning on setting up the taj mahal, but I will have it just in case. Kevin and I are taking the trailer, there is only room for 2, but you're more than welcome to the gmc with folded down seats to make a flat spot to catch some zzzzz's. The gmc will retain heat if warmed up before night, night time. Between the car and 20 degree sleeping bag, I got you.

don't worry about it, I'm questioning if I'll make the gate closing time myself since I could get seriously distracted at the "bacon and beer" event. Especially considering how they could put me on the radio when they see the truck and go "who dafaq is headed to a race track on a motorcycle in january!?" hahahahaha

believe it or not my truck is super comfy to sleep in and I've done it before, plus this time I'm going to be smart and bring pants and a jacket/sweaters

I have to admit though chris, you are like a track angel with all the things that you do to help everyone out

+1,000!

The Appalachian Trail has a regular term for "trail angels". Chris definitely fits the definition of a "track angel"! Kinda cool, Chris. You're an original, genuine, kick-ass (literally) dude!

^^^ ya'lls are too much.

Bump for the 7 day mark and the weather is looking good. Come have some fun on track, and in the paddock.

Don't forget the earplugs for both on track and so you can get some solid sleep. The party will most likely go late into the evening.

See ya'lls there.

Paid!!!! Happy Birthday to me!

I am mostly packed and ready. Still waiting on a last minute part for the new r6. Snow, ice and super wet ground is hampering my work to get the trailer squared away.

AWWW YISSS!!!

lookin' forward to the trip coach :salute:
I'm confirming the gixxer as my track weapon for this event, I just changed the oil though I'm going to have to do that again because I'm a dumbass though and put a bit too much in. After the oil change I started her up and she purred...quietly my phone read 83db inside a garage at idle and 90 at 12k rpm right next to it

looks like my phone maxes out at 90, I'm gonna double check with another device tomorrow or wed if I can get the bike outside (hell is freezing over out there)

I do believe that the bike is within noise regulations but want to be sure

just got a proper db meter, ran a 108 inside my garage standing right next to it just now I'd continue to test but I'm afraid I'd wake up the neighbors

I'll know tomorrow if standing 15ft away and being outside helps enough

while also standing right next to it I think I'll drop below 104 by moving outside, but I'm a bit bummed I can't find a muffler insert online for a yoshi rs3 to ensure that I'm good to go though

I can feel the itch of anticipation, I just finished my last shift before the trip today and now I'll be sitting through classes daydreaming about the track

I'm in full preparation mode now, stocking up on beef jerky and assembling all the stuff I need for easy loading on thurs. I finally got new tie downs too since the old ones felt flimsy and were starting to wear.

Ran the numbers outside this time on the gsxr600 with full yoshimura rs-3 exhaust

measuring at the exhaust (from behind)
idle: 82db
12k rpm: 116db

measuring 10ft away on the starboard side
idle: 76db
12k rpm: 98db

it's amazing what a difference 10 feet of open air makes, and only two neighbors were pissed off in the process of this testing they understood and helped me out after I explained that I was testing the exhaust rather than trying to piss anyone off. The $50 was well spent on the db meter in the name of peace of mind, that seems to be one of the best ways to spend money since anxiety about driving 1k miles to not ride sucks and it's gone now.

Didn't I guess you would be around 98db in one of these threads?

Anyway, here is what you do to further ensure there is not a problem. When you exit 14, stay about midtrack or farther left until you get past the start finish (that is where they take the sound reading).

No buzzing the tower private!!!!

I'm gonna miss buzzing the tower, I did it quite a bit on the 250 bc I didn't give a damn when I was quiet compared to a few of the bikes

I don't remember you calling an exact DB just calling that I'd be below 102

Running into small issues with that. Nothing I can't work through, but I hate having problems at the last minute.
