slipper clutch
Found on Asphalt Junkies a post on a slipper clutch for the 250's. If you do track days probably a worthy addition. Anyone install the slipper clutch on their 250?
I know the 300's have them.

Never underestimate how badly a rider can charge a corner. hahahaahahhah For sh*ts and giggles, I will brake super late and downshift waaaayyyy early to get the rear all kinds of out of shape. It aint right, but it sure is fun.

Yeah, the only real benefit I could think of is the clutch pull would be easier... if I remember correctly the ninja 250's clutch pull was still very easy though. If you really want to do a cool mod you should consider a EFI install. That's about the only thing I hated about my 250 was those damn carbs!

IF the slipper clutch was such an ineffective/unneeded mod on the 250, then why the hell did they add one to the 300??

Mainly because a Japanese supplier has come up with a cheap to manufacture clutch, that incorporates both a very easy clutch pull and a reasonably effective slipper function. Ducati paved the way with this design on their lower-end Monsters, and now it's showing up in many Japanese bikes as well.

look at the picture... the movement of the outer basket relative to the inner hub moves the servo ramps which when going one way, add pressure to the clutch, but when going the other way (engine braking) actually push the clutch plates apart to make them slip.

Because there are enough morons in this world who would rather down shift than learn to use the brakes properly. They believe that the engine is a brake
