Did he stall and just panic?

*EDIT* Got to the end of the video. Yup. I like his "I couldn't hear the exhaust" explanation in the comments. Even if that WERE true, he had to be able to feel it. He was just too worried about the cars around him, I guess.

I don't think the guy in front of you stalling forces you to pin the throttle and dump the clutch...

got a good laugh though!

Who's Willy?

No demo guys coming up the rear? I've always seen them we some one in the back of the group in case something like that happened.

looks like he stopped for a moment to let the group go to try to launch the bike and it ended poorly for him.

Whatever he did with the switch on the right side may have had an effect here, does the killswitch control power modes on these bikes? Also if you try to re-start an already running bike (this bike is started via killswitch) wouldn't the revs pop up which could help an event like this occur considering he clearly didn't have the clutch in

There is only one demo bike I've ridden that I wanted to buy afterwards, granted I demo'd it at the track so that may have been a factor. The new ZX10R is sweet though. That said, don't buy a demo bike, just get a slightly used bike instead

What a maroon!

He better get rid of that video or he'll be buying that bike.

Better yet, I'd sue Yamaha for leaving him stranded.

What happened to his gloves?

I love it at the end when he says, "go home, dope myself up some". I think he was doped up at the start.

"Whether you like it or not, it's yours now!"

Actually, what does happen in a demo ride if you dump the bike like that? Are you liable for the damage, or is it just assumed by the manufacturer that they're taking a risk letting complete strangers ride their bikes?

I asked that a yr or so ago to my dealer.
I was told personal test rides the person riding bikes insurance is used and demo rides it is the dealerships or event manufacturers insurance.
The bikes used on demo days are not owned by dealer, they are brought in for event on semi's.

Not sure same all over, but I wouldn't see why not either.

guy in front stalled, then he stalled, then he gave it the goose trying to recover some cool points for stalling and looped it. but it's cool guys, he "ride a double-r" that makes him super badass. because no other bike has used two R's in the designation.

Call the NHTSA. It has the Toyota unintended acceleration issue.
Gave me chuckle (it's OK since he's not hurt, right?). I thought the bike was pretty easy to ride. It was a tad quiet.

Yep. Time for an R6.

The guy has the nerve to actually hang around the dealership and get some free food after wrecking the bike. I would be tucking my tail between my legs and getting the hell out of there, with a ride of shame away.

That was pure panic, his brain quit working as soon as it said "oh ****, the guy in front of me just stalled"

I would hate to see him panic like that mid curve.

I thought he was going to destroy the bike just from his sloppy shifting. He even locked up the tyre at one point during a down shift. I didn't expect the crash!
