Ouch...although I was never there, that rider might have been able to avoid that. Cut through the right and take the turn wide. But with the rear wheel up, there wasn't much he could do.

No, the rider who crashed didn't look to hot to me. Maybe he thought he could slide in on the inside. What I see is the rider in front of him swooped over to the inside taking a lazy turn in (poor line choice).
When you eval your lines on any given track, one thing you should consider is the amount of track you use. While you want to use all the track available, you want to use it effectively, keeping a consistent and predictable line. Check the rider in yellow in the video below. Skip to the 1:20 mark and watch for the next 45 or so seconds. The guy in yellow uses waaaaayyyy to much track for no good reason and is off the race line waaaayyyy to much.

I would say the rider who crashed was possibly overly aggressive.

Not a chance in hell. Had he let off the brake, he'd have taken out the rider who cut in front trying to jink right.

That stoppy was amazing. Shame that situation worked out so badly for him. I presume it's hard to tell if you're rear wheel is actually off the ground or if it's only just touching.

Judging from the ambulance on the side of the track at the end of the video, I don't think he'll be doing much beating. |

Ambulance doesn't always mean too beat up. Not at the track anyway. Ask me how I know. lol

Just a little up close and personal with cement rumble strips. I'm all good. Rode later that day, but I did have to get another helmet. That pissed me off. Mine was brand spanking new. Grr!
So I got my track crash out of my system. I don't wish to do it again any time soon.

No way, really? Though I wonder if making a claim like that would raise my premiums. Food for thought...
Akima, I was rashed up a bit on my right side where I landed, but I'm good. Lesson solidly learned (I hope!)

I had a close call on the road the other day. Got blinded by car headlights mid corner and almost went off the road. I replayed the even after and realized that most of the incident was my fault. Gotta keep riding and live and learn along the way |
