When you stop at a red light or stop sign be sure and stretch your hands and the rest of your body.

yeah , you will build up the muscles eventually. I used to get cramped up on my clutch hand in a lot of stop and go traffic and when I first started to ride for longer periods of time.

You probably need to relax your grip on the bars - just pay attention to your grip next time and make sure you're not too tight.

It sounds counter-intuitive, but once you start gripping the bars too tightly you actually make it more difficult to react quickly. A light, controlled grip is better - in virtually every sport.

From what I hear. The ProGrip 719s are a good $20 upgrade. I'll let you know when mine come in the mail.

My guess would also be gripping the bars too tightly.

+1, this would have been my advice. I have the same issue, but oddly enough with my legs. Especially when riding on the highway I tend to grip the tank with my knees pretty tight. After a while you definitely start to feel it, so I constantly have to remind myself to loosen my grip...

You already know that I have the pazzos - it was just too much of a reach for my small hands, so I made the switch and wouldn't go back if you paid me

Hmm...I've never had this problem, even after 2.5 hours without stopping. I think, like everyone mentioned, loosening your grip would help you out. Try gripping the tank with your knees a little more and just shift around when you're on the bike, see what takes some weight off your hands or allows you to relax more. If your hands are really small, perhaps grabbing a set of shortys from pazzo would help you out.

Click here for pics of the Pazzo levers to see the full range of adjustability. Check out the pics at the bottom of the thread

I agree with Broom, you'll develop the muscles eventually. If it's your first bike, almost certainly you're gripping too tight, too.

Besides, 100 miles is a good warm up. Nothing should hurt short of at leat 200 miles!
