Hello everyone. My name is David. I recently purchased a 09 250.
Already have one fun project under my belt and almost all of the maintenance. When I got the bike, the gas cap lock was frozen. Completely frozen! It took me two days of BP blaster and a lot of banging around but I did manage to get it functional again. When I started I couldn't even push the key in. Once I got the key in it was so corroded that the tumbler would turn. Below is the picture of the cleaned up parts. If anyone has questions about it let me know. It was nice not having to buy an new lock with a different key. |

Hello and welcome to the family bro. I also had to do some work to my ninjette to get her running the first time I got her, I'll forever cherish how she roared to life after reassembling her (following carb cleaning and a LOT of maintenance). Kudos to you for doing the work.
On a related note, I don't foresee myself ever having a problem with the gas cap seeing as I have this baby Ride and stay safe man. |

Welcome! I bet the locked gas cap dropped the price of the ninja a good bit, no?

It was a good deal. Owner just wanted to get rid of the payment. He actually damaged the cap because he already opened it. Paint around cap a little damaged. At least it is now functional. Still working on the paper work.
Future mods: Hot Bodies Fender Eliminator Integrated tail light Proton flush mounts Electronic relay No cut diode Tank pad That is just the start. Just added rear spools. |
