Worst track weekend ever. At least the partying was good.
I made it one LAP, not even a session, and my GSXR just died. It turned off. We thought it was the battery b/c I had not had it on a tender all winter, but I dropped $90 on a brand new battery only to find out that wasn't the problem. We were able to get it to turn on at that point, but I'd rev it and let the it go to idle and the bike would die. It may be a throttle sensor issue? Or some old gas in the injectors? I don't know. But what a bummer! But hey, the partying was kick ass in the evenings!

@alex.s, I always go both days, but I sleep either in a hotel or in the backseat of my car. I share an easy-up with folks I pit with, so I don't have to take much.

Check the stator output and regulator/rectifier numbers. If you aren't sure how, most shops can do it in 20-30 minutes.

They did. So I'll now be going back to Barber in April. On my 250. Gonna sell that GSXR that I've always kind of regretted buying and get a new 300 as my street bike. My 250 will reenter the world of track! And he thought he got off easy when I retired him to street status. LOL!

Yep, I think it's either the regulator or a throttle sensor issue. Either way, it's got too much crap on it and I don't know how to do more than the basics. The more people put on a bike, the more things there are to break.

That really blows... But kindda dejavu... Lol my friends gixxer leaked its entire load of coolant at the track after like the first 3 laps or so, so he couldn't ride. Good luck with your next track day!

four of us from Ohio are heading down for the NESBA event on April 13 weekend - that the one you are going to?

if its battery power related is easy to tell - will it crank after it quits? if yes, it has plenty of juice to run your electronics, if not then i'd def suspect your alternator/stator output - easy to check, just put a voltmeter on it while revving at about 2k - should be >13v

to me it sounds fuel pressure / delivery related. once you start to roll on the throttle it just cant keep up and bogs out and quits. or your plugs are fuel fouled. just my 'too sense'.

Barber on a 250 is fun. I ride barber for the first time last year on my 250 and can't wait to go back.
