Newbie here, first bike, and I got myself an 07 Ninja 250r, I'll have questions!
Hello All, I just got my first bike, I'm not yet riding since helmet and other gear are on their way to me. And I hope to take my MSF course soon.
It's been a beginers bike before, and has been dropped, and will be dropped a few more times... the previous owner had just replaced fork seals, Tires are fairly new, chain and sprocket, and brake pads are recent also, it has no leaks. I'm a rather large person, probably pushing on the boundaries of what this bike can manage, but well, I'm learning, not looking for lots of speed or doing tricks... I'm 35, 6'4" 300lbs (and currently losing weight). I don't really care much for looks, when riding I think it does not matter much... I want to keep things under a low budget for now, so considering my size, would you recommend a rear shock upgrade? What would you recommend? I think I'd like to lift the rear wheel a little, so what are the options? I'm not completely mechanically challenged, so there's things I can do for myself. The previous owner also replaced the exhaust with one from a 2008, would this call for the so called "re-jetting"? Or is it recommended regardless? Here's a picture xGvaxkz.jpg Have a nice day! |

Oh, and I guess if anyone could direct me to where I could get the turn signal lights for this bike, I'd appreciate it.

Welcome to the forum Peter, I'm sure you can get the help you need around here. Congrats on the bike! These folks don't like the flames but I do. Use your search bar for any questions, I go to google and type my question with ninjette after it... Works each and every time!!!

The ones on the lower part of your bike... Most folks will say take em off, I dunno why but they do.
Whoa your missing most of them already, shoulda looked at all of the super huge pic, you barely have any flames left on that side... The silver things at the bottom were flames :/

I'm not as tall as you, but I can tell you it handles the weight with no real problem. I need to crank the preload up, but it still works well for my 285 pounds.
I'm actually thinking about getting a second so my wife and I will both have 250's
