Hello from Bombay,India

Hello from India,

I am from Bombay(Mumbai) India.
I booked my 250r back on July 27th. There is a 75 days waiting period
We get the U.K. (Fuel Injection) version.

I own a 2008 Yamaha YZF-R15, which is my first bike.

I have done about 1,8600 miles so far on my R15.

[P.S. :- Are there any other Indians active on this forum ? I would love to get some info on the F.I. version of the ninja. ]

Hi Tazz,

Wish we could get the FI model. For that matter it would be cool if we could get the R15. I guess the Ninja is an upgrade!

Right Ninja is an upgrade, from R15 (150cc) 17ps
Why would you want R15 ?

there are very little options for small displacement bikes here in the US. It would be cool to have more selection

Heh, i wish we had more choice at higher displacements

Here its either a 250 cc or a liter class (for which you would endup shelling out 27,000 USD)

Haha! Sure thing bro, come over, the only problem might be India's 105% import taxes on motorbikes. So expect to shellout double the price for a new bike.

Running in completed...

I just completed over 1000 miles on the bike. Redlined after running it in. That was so much fun.

I've been to India, I don't think it's a place for high displacement bikes, esp with the traffic and road conditions, the lack of street rules, lanes etc.

You need a light bike with a good turning radius to survive the roads and riding in India. Having a high displacement supersport would not be logical but would be a nice toy if you have the money.

I think you'll find the 250 to be perfect. Just watch out for the traffic and make sure they dont come too close as those fairing may get scratched up and are expensive.

Hey rob i know what you mean, and thanks for your concern.

I agree with you.
Anything above 50 bhp is an illogical choice.

But I am really looking forward to the daytona coming down to India next year.
(Fingers crossed) Soon enough

[P.S. :- We need more tracks though the closest one is approx 1000 miles away. :-/ ]

Hello fellow indians

I booked my ninja 4 days ago. They said i will get it somewhere near jan end.

I also posted in new user sub forums.
I want to know if there are any good upgrades for performance (turbo QQ)
I am from Punjab.

Btw i hate that new 2012 version.. I will call them tomorrow to get me 2011 model. 2012's vynyls are craP! I love pure black bikes without any other color in it and those vynyls..
Is it possible to get them removed in case they still send bike with those 'gay' graphics?

Currently there are no KTM bikes in the Indian market. KTM is coming out with its first bike (ktm duke 200cc) for India later this month though.

I think its a really good bike for the Indian conditions.

My personal opinion is that KTM bikes are ugly. Hence I dont see myself owning one anytime in the future though
