Something Different From Atlanta

Whats up y'all figured I'd stop lurking and post up my whip. Shes not my first ride but shes an absolute blast. I've taken to calling it a 'Honja'. She's an '08 Ninja 250r with a CL175 tank/seat. All fairings removed. Cafe-style 2-1 high exhaust, pod filters (since this picture), exhaust wrap and a bunch of other junk. Plans include: stripping the tank/headlight bucket and either clearing the bare metal or spraying it with Stainless Steel epoxy paint, red racing stripes and red Kawasaki badges, and possibly a fiberglass tail/bumpstop to complete the cafe look. Hope you guys like it! Thanks for looking!

Holy frijoles that looks like a fun cafe mod! Welcome aboard!

How's the exhaust routed? Looks like it comes out awfully high on that left side, but assume that's partly why you wrapped it?

VERY cool. What gauge is that? Speedometer? Is it better than stock?

Yeah it comes out real high on the left side...my leg can attest to that! I wrapped it because of that and the fact that it leaks where it meets the baffle. I sealed the leak with some high-temp RVT goop and then wrapped it so it should hold up for a while. Its tucked close enough to the frame that you don't touch it unless you really lean the bike over while you are stationary though.

The speedo is from a CL175 as well. Its about to get replaced with a generic analog tach....If anybody has a good source for decent analog gauges I would greatly appreciate it!

Hahaha, I'd say its about 1/2 of the way up my calf when I am on the pegs....The seat position is a good bit higher than a stock Ninja....with a stock seat I'm pretty sure this exhaust would prevent the average sized rider from having children.

Well that one's an '08 which I thought was the new generation? Agreed, that ripping off all the fairings and redoing the look is much more reasonable with a pre-gen. Just got the tank back from the radiator shop and will get to stripping/painting next week. Colors will be stainless steel tank, red racing stripes (thin line bare metal thick line), old school Kawasaki badges in red with black trim. Also, got some stainless steel brake lines that will be going on at some point next week. After that Im not sure where Im going with it...I may do a fiberglass seat/bump like one off rockcitycafe.com....but who knows.

PS:
I've got a guy whipping up some decals and striping for me on the cheap. His stuff is really high quality durable vinyl and his prices are very reasonable. Shoot me a pm if you want to get in touch with him.

Thanks for the kind words! The tanks getting stripped and sprayed tonight. Epoxy paint takes a while to cure so I figured I'd go ahead and get it out of the way before the weather gets super nice (supposed to rain all weekend). Decals should be here by end of week/early next week. SS Brake Lines are here waiting to be installed. Thinking hard about clip ons+ rear set adjusters+ cafe seat. Would really finish the bike up nicely.

Once I get it all bolted back up in the next 2 weeks or so I will go take some nice pics of the bike. Thanks again!
