In your experience...
tailoring?
I currently have a perforated leather jacket and it's good. What I would love to have is an Alpinestars jacket but they do not come in my size. If I were to get it tailored, in your experience, how well does it end up working out for you? Can you re-purpose the extra left over leather to make reinforced sections on the jacket?

You need to have a chat with Barnacle Bill! 40yrs experience making/altering race suits, jackets, pants, gloves bla bla bla and other leather gear items. He isn't all that expensive either.

ah this is a good way to invest $$$ into gear, gear that fits right is so much better
one of these days I'm gonna get a custom fitted track suit, someday
