Fuel Injected bike - weak engine after storage

Hi

I took out my '12 250 Ninja yesterday, after 11 months of storage. The engine feels weaker than what it used to, even after i changed most of the gasoline, and have ridden about 100 miles.
It's like the throttle is twisted in the thin air, for the last 1/2, or something like that. It will pick up speed, but it's noticeably slower than before. I estimate that 10-20 % of the power is gone. The bike has fuel injection.
It is also not running as smooth as it did, it's like it's a weak "gargling" in the engine. It's slower picking up speed even when running in neutral, as if it does
not get enough fuel, fast enough..
The bike has 32000 km on it / 20 000 miles, and has followed the regular maintenance at the dealership.

i put some fluid to remove condensation / water from the tank yesterday. Has not tried the bike today. Any suggestions what could cause such problems? Thanks..

Well if it was a carbed bike I would say that's your problem right there after 11 months of storage but since youre fuel injected I would have to say check your injectors, fuel pump and filters? Maybe the pump isn't pressurizing the system to the right p.s.i and that's what causing the "slow fuel delivery" feeling you are describing? Clogged fuel filter/injector maybe?

Hopefully someone that has more knowledge of fi bikes will chime in. Just figured I'd give you a starting point. Hope it helps!

first...PURGE the fuel...ALL of it. Start with 100% fresh fuel. Stinky old fuel does not combust....period.

2nd...add a dose of injector cleaner, Techron, Stabil 360 or Berrymans B12 additive to clean the whole system. Don't know what is commercially available in your area but you get the picture.

3rd...ride, give it 50 miles to open up, evaluate from there

To be determined...a spark plug change may be called for....

Nice! Does it feel "normal" now? In the future, if you don't plan on riding for a while, I say you pour in some fuel stabilizer in the tank just in case.

^^This^^
Top off the tank with a good dose of stabilizer AND be sure to run the treated fuel through the engine for a bit before shutdown to treat the entire system.
I was going to recommend checking the airbox for any stow aways. Mice can nest in the darndest places and cork up the inlet. Glad to hear you got it sorted
