Dear asphalt, you and I are going to have a problem

My kickstand digs into the blacktop hard on hot days and most of the parking spots in the area are just that, sometimes I'm lucky and get the ones with the strip of land and concrete. I had a neighbor mention that he noticed my bike was digging in and thought about moving it for me so it didn't fall (dk the guy well enough for him to be moving my bike but it's nice of him to mention it i guess) I've made many of holes already I don't care about the holes but they are annoying. Anyways I'm sick of making holes and moving it now and then even tho I don't think it'll tip I'd rather just avoid it period.

Does this happen to you?
Have a nifty fix for it?

So far I've heard...
-smash a soda can and put it between the stand and the asphalt.

solution: take the MSF course. They give you these nifty little motorcycle coasters when you complete the course. It's basically just a 1/4" thick hockey puck that you put under your kickstand. It works well on whatever surface you happen to park on. Mine is also a very vibrant shade of hot pink

It happens to me at work all the time. I have a designated parking spot now.

Soda can works, also they sell kickstand plates you can put down.

I had mine sink into gravel
Mostly caught it but that's another story, Now I use a Cat's Paw, a little piece of wood or whatever that slips under the foot. Fits nicely in that little space between the windscreen. Taped the edges so no scratches.

Mine is shaped like a cats paw but you could make your own in any shape.

A few bucks at Home Depot/Lowes. Pick size and shape you want. Paint it or put some stickers on it, whatever floats your boat. No big deal if you loose it.

If you like spending money this one is kinda cool, I think I saw it in the Aerostich catalog.

If you have a normal place you park, you can put down a perm kick stand protector. I have a spot at work that is basically "mine" and they put down new asphalt. In a week I had a divot, so I just took a bit of aluminum, punched 4 holes and drywall screwed it to the ground (yes, on a warm day the dry wall screws will just screw into the asphalt)

I will say to put a line or string on it if you are going to pick it up and take it with you, huge PITA to try and tilt the bike and pull it out from under the kick stand. soooo much easier to sit the bike, tilt it upright and then pull the line until the "pad" is in hand.

The soda can idea is an old standby. But people litter a lot less than they used to, and it's harder to find cans lying around these days.

The junction box cover is positively medieval. Aside from the fact that it's heavy, if you don't file the edges down it'll tear up your pocket or wherever you stash it.

I have a bunch of pucks, picked up for free from various events, etc. But all they are is a piece of plastic. Why not just use a jar lid? Peanut butter jar... or if you want metal, eat a spaghetti dinner and save the sauce jar lid. You really can do this for free.

One useful tip: Tie a long string to it and loop it over your brake (not clutch) lever when you park. Preferably one that's a bright color. That does two things:

1) You're a lot less likely to forget the puck
2) If you're on a really soft surface (like moist soil/grass) that won't support the kickstand at all, you won't have that awkward moment of having to balance the bike while you reach down to pick up the puck. Just retrieve it using the string, wrap it up and stick it in your pocket.

If you want something really cool and like spending money, have this guy make you one with Kawasaki on it or something:
