Hello from Arkansas!

My husband bought my 2006 Ninja around March 2010 for me. I took the MSF course in April 2010 and afterwards, happily trotted my rear end to the Arkansas Hwy Dept. I'm excited to say I have my endorsement and have over 1000 miles of saddle time since then. Now I'm looking for info to know my bike better and get tips from the ancients.

I run the stock Dunlops at 28/32 and I don't feel comfortable with tight curves or twisties. I upped my pressure to 30/34 and I feel it responds tons better. I have confidence rolling on. Other than saving for new tires am I doing more harm than good running my tires at that pressure?

The stock dunlop k691's on the pre-gens are just not very good. Poor feel, poor grip, and if those are the originals on your bike, they are 5 years old at this point. You're not harming them by running them a few psi higher, but honestly the best move is replacing them with newer and better tires soon anyway.

They are actually new tires but are the same kind that originally came on the bike. I should have posted better. Sorry! And you are correct. These tires should never been specked with this bike. Road rash waiting to happen!
