Just take a stanley knife and re-cut the treads. The remaining lines will guide you on the pattern and the roughness of the the burnout will smooth out after 40-50 miles.
Or waste big money on new tires and make the capitalists laugh at you.

Its your call

No, you were too early, there was plenty of life left in that tire.

wow, that tire failed inspection pre-burnout? so much life left

that said I thought it was a result of locking up the rear at first glance before I realized it was all the way around

So what is the purpose of this thing you call a "Burnout"? Captain Kirk
and does it mean I should buy Pirelli shares?

It's not a burnout till the tire pops.

I'd try a burnout with the rear tyre on dirt, but I'd be too scared to try it on tarmac.

do it on wet pavement, provides a nice slippery surface

ps. for anyone who would actually think this is a good idea think that the lack of traction applies to the front as well

I had some burnout fun on my 919 before I replaced the 11 year old rear tie O.O it had so little traction all you had to do was get off the seat, hold the front brake and take off like normal lol. New tires are a lot harder to do burnouts with

Idk, your bike do what you want, but I think burn outs in general are kinda squidish.

Squidish.... yea but having fun with your bike is part of the big picture. Seems like he did it in safe manner, and that is what matters.

Exactly my thoughts. I bought this to have a blast, not to baby her everywhere ( which I do usually anyway lol).

It was a huge empty lot next to an Allstate office lmao

I don't have the confidence to drift well on pavement yet.

I mean, I really don't even like the term "squid" i feel like it's just something haters use. Like you stated before, the tire was on it's way out, why not have some fun with it
