This time it wasn't a Camry

Yep crashed at the track, turn 11 at Sonoma. Felt like the rear slid out but one guy said he was watching and I tucked the front.

The damage: a bent handlebar

Solution, I bent it back going back out after lunch

I've got a windscreen for sale if you want it. Probably not a big deal since it's a track bike though.

This is just your bikes way of shedding all parts that should be replaced anyway. Glad you're alright, time for upgrades!

Thanks. We used the handle from my pitbul stand slid over the handlebar to give enough leverage to bend it back

Righteous. Good to know there's a such thing as track fairings. Makes the idea of taking mine to the track one day much more of a reality. Glad you and the bike are okay.

Switching between the two is annoying though, it's easier to just not crash lol

I'm poor, so track days would prolly be few and far between. I'd say the work would be well worth it considering how little practice I'd have under my belt.

I feel that, I'm trying to force a few to happen in july and my bank account is not exactly happy with me about that, very angry with me actually. Most of the cost is going into building the track bike and rounding out my gear collection a bit though.

300 for boots & gauntlet gloves
~500-1000 to make my 250 track worthy (including tires, not including track fairings (this season))
~300 for trailer + ~200 for a tow hitch on my car(might cut this cost and rent uhaul for this season + borrow my mom's suv or my bro's jeep)
~500 for a track weekend locally @ shenandoah July 13th/14th, including food/gas expenses
~500 for a track day at midOhio later on.

I regret adding that all up just now, especially considering that I'm going to run into more expenses such as stands/actioncam if I can/cooler filled with drinks/extra oil/tire guage&pump/a gas can for my extra fuel/and likely other miscellaneous expenses that I don't know to be prepared for.

I can only hope that the finances get less intimidating over time as I get everything I need in place

God luck. After reading that, I don't know if I'll EVER have a track day. What do you mean by track worthy? Do they have requirements, or do you just want your bike in a certain state?

track worthy is mostly my own set of requirements, I want it running smoothly as well as upgrading the suspension/brakes, lowering the bars, increasing the tire sizes, adding on rearsets, and hopefully finding a full exhaust system. Along with rejetting the carbs for power gains. This in addition to safety wiring the bike and getting my hands on front/rear stands w/spools for it.

Bummer but better on the track then on the streets.

Who's the manufacturer of the track palstics?
Hot bodies, they held up pretty well!

Dude, I race my bike and the only thing I have is rearsets. When I took it to the track all I did was switch to Rosso 2s

You're overthinking this just a bit

I don't think I'm overthinking it too much, my 250 is track only and it's a pregen so upgrading the tire sizes is a pretty big improvement. A newgen rear swingarm w/rear wheel shouldn't be too hard to find and attach. A gsxr rear shock is super easy to do and putting a zx-6r front end or any other front end that fits gives me better brakes, lower handlebars and a massive front forks upgrade all in one. If I find everything junkyard it'll make my life a lot easier, and people junk crashed 600s all the time.

the exhaust is rusted a bit, as well as heavy as ****, but I'm sticking with it if I don't see an aftermarket full exhaust and there's no need to rejet if I'm not switching the exhaust

from there the rearsets are a necessity for ground clearance and with the bigger wheel sizes I can run Pirelli DRIIs

You've never been to the track right? You're putting way too much into the back just to go to a trackday. What is the point of adding all that stuff to your bike? To make it faster? The best way to make it faster is to work on the nut connecting the handlebars to the seat.

Leave it the way it is, take it to the track and then see how necessary all those mods are.
