Should I?

I am thinking of trading my current 08 250r for this: http://bayarearidersforum.com/forums...d.php?t=392532

and in a month or 2 purchase another 2011-2012 250r.

Is the trade worth it? The other bike is a salvage title and has run 19k. I am just worried parts might fail etc.

In terms of my 250r, the front cowling has some serious rash on the right side (from previous owner) and the right and left fairings have tiny cracks around the turn signals (also from previous owner). Pics attached. I will be purchasing a new front cowling...just too lazy to install it.

Why would you be purchasing another new-gen ninjette right after selling/trading the one you have?

it would make more sense to fix the rash or replace the damaged ones

Price of your bike is probably slightly higer than the 650. salvage title drives price down a bit. I'd would not worry about parts failing on that any more than what you are currently riding. Most likely was totalled due to the cosmetic problems it has. Tank is expensive.

650 is a fun bike to ride. worse on gas mileage, worse on insurance. Not sure what you are looking to to do so cannot comment on what is "best"

Actually mpg and insurance is about the same for both bikes. Comparing the two bikes the 650r is the better ride but that 2500 price tag is a little steep for a salvage bike.

lol...I bought it 5 years old with 1500 miles on it. Needed to clean the carbs properly, but opted for the sea foam route....which worked....but never got the mpg I should've....only rode it 1000 miles so not too big of a loss...

I would have to think long and hard about that. I love f4i's.

just found out the f4i in question has run 77k miles...so now I am thinking its not that great of a deal....in the long haul I planned on upgrading to a 600cc by june but now that I think about it, I am getting a new apartment in june....and the extra money should go into better furnishing the place. I think I will keep my little 2 fiddy for one more year...thinking about giving it away makes me not want to... O_O
