Amazon Same-Day Delivery

Ordered something with this for the first time today. I'm sitting at my computer today at noon, and realized I didn't have an extra drive for the NAS, as I had used mine a few weeks ago. I was talking a friend through fixing theirs, when I realized this. Went to www.newegg.com and was about to order, but then checked the same part # on amazon and they were the same price. I have Prime with Amazon, so free 2-day shipping is useful. But - for the first time I can remember, the shipping options included same-day-delivery, for a non-absurd price (I think it was $12 or something). I was intrigued, so I went for it. Later this same afternoon, some dude drives up in a beat-up car, piled high with packages, and hands my wife the new drive. 2-day is good enough for almost anything, and it certainly would have been for this as well, but I wanted to see how they can really pull this off.

. Of course you live in a prime area/hub, so it's easy for them to do one-day service. My area, not so much...yet. They also have Amazon Fresh coming out of the Bay Area and I think Los Angeles, as their test markets. It would be cool to get something like that here.

Newegg lost focus and went to **** a few years back. I don't even know how they exist anymore with amazon.

Well, it's not drone delivered, but it was almost the same speed...

that's a shame since I used newegg to build my pc, really liked the convenience and selection of parts

Every so often there's a lightning deal that's worth grabbing, and maybe some of the combos if you don't have a frys or microcenter nearby. But in general, not what they used to be.
