Currently in the army but I get out in about 10 weeks and I plan on moving to foley Alabama to be a cop and after the probation period a k9 cop. Either job I do won't pay to much but tje wife is in school to be a surgical nurse so she will be my sugar mama and support my habits lol

I am currently a system admin for a software company that makes tax and appraisal software for government. There are probably a few of you that your property tax bill comes from my system.

Sounds alot like my last job. I am currently working as an Systems Architect for a startup company in Cincinnati OH. I have worked at home for the past 3 years on different projects. Money is good and my saved gas money supports my habit. In fact, it bought my 2010 ninja. My previous job was a website developer for celebs. It was fun and diverse but man…. They wanted stuff done right now. Was very high stress and the IT staff as sub par. Ended up doing much of that work myself.

I can’t ask for a much better deal. I have a good job, a house on the lake, work at home, ride 1.5 miles to some of the best twisties around and my wife loves to ride too, as a passenger.

I'm proud to say I've never EVER been into a starbucks or ever had one of their drinks. Too expensive, and I dont like coffee.

Do what you gotta do for school though, I worked at McD's for 4 years while in highschool, I know how it is.

I sell HDTVs, Cameras, and Sound Systems at Sears. If anyone needs info on getting the right TV let me know and I'll make sure the sales guys dont try to screw you .

In about a month I'll be starting at AT&T selling phones and whatnot. I enjoy being in sales because I'm able to help people.

the toughest part about working this job is not really having a goal or direction to take for a 'real' job.

Not the one on Ox Road huh? I used to do my shopping there all the time. The meatloaf from there is evil...I would get some and tell myself I was only going to eat a quarter of it per meal(it was family size) and I would en up eating 2/3 of it...geez.

yeh, I seem to recall that incident as well. I think that was when I decided not to purchase any of their products. never looked back, though I'm regularly dragged their by friends/family.

Whatcha do...

I teach English at a private high school here in Japan. Been doing it for some 17 years or so. I've also been an assistant manager of a pizza place, mowed lawns, washed dishes, worked in an office furniture warehouse, been an office secretary, and my all time favorite (before the compound fracture) - bumped chairs at a ski area. Get this, my major was Environmental Science with an emphasis on Geographic Information Systems! So very unrelated...

Anyway, I pay for my habit by coaching Karate. It doesn't bring in much, but saved up is enough to cover all my bike expenses so far.

I have done a lot!

In my college years I was an assistant mgr at Mi Amigo's Mexican Restaurant one Summer in Indianapolis and worked for "The Athletic Dept" and Browns Sporting Goods. I sold cars for Paul Miller Ford in Lexington. I worked in the knitting room for Fruit of the Loom and I ran away and became a ski bum and worked at Winter Park Ski Resort in Colorado. In 1989 with huge college bills I took a job with a public utilities company and thought I would be there till I got my school paid for and then back to Colorado I would go but now almost 23 yrs later I am a Superintendent for them and have two braniac kids who's dreams are to attend Stanford and M.I.T I guess instead of retiring in 5yrs I will be working till they bleed me dry...Just kidding, they are my joy and I am very proud of their academic achievements.

I'm a Sergeant in the Marines.

Currently stationed with the recruiting station in Sacramento. I help process people into the Marines and send them to boot camp. I run a lot of numbers and keep track of a lot of stats and points. I also do waivers for people who have issues like medical problems or tattoo's that want to join.

I was a support specialist in payroll at ADP for 3 years, then I went on unemployment for 5 months

more recently 2 months ago I've moved to another big company that just 2 weeks after I started, was purchased by some company named Google

not sure what's going to happen in the next 6 months or if I'll still have a job. I like Google products but not even sure if I want to be a Googler -- those unfamiliar with their company culture of keeping you at work all the time and doing as they say.. The company culture where I'm at now I like, and I'm not sure if Google's culture is for me just yet but time will tell. Just hoping my job doesn't get downsized but I've accepted the risk

On a lighter note, at least my bike's paid off for some time now.

I feel like a bum when I read some of the achievements here.

I'm 20, a Mechanical Engineering student, having a hard time in school though. Not doing too well and I feel like I'm wasting my time. I'm afraid that I'll have to change my major because I just can't handle the math required for engineering. I can fix stuff and understand engineering ideas but the math is holding me back! So right now I'm, debating whether or not I should stick with mechanical engineering or settle for another major that won't have as much math involved (I've only considered mechanical engineering as my major ever since I was in middle school, never thought of anything else).

I work in sales right now, it pays for my bike. That's pretty much the only reason I'm keeping my job.

I want to join the military and go into law enforcement. Both have been my goals since I was a child.

As you can see, pretty much everything in my life is up in the air. Which makes me feel like a lazy bum.

Stick with the engineering degree. It doesn't keep you from joining the military, law enforcement, or just about any other career you choose. But choosing *not* to get the mechE degree now will forever lock you out of a potentially great career that you may want only 2 or 3 years from now.
