Speedo Issues

So i started having speedo issues, it would randomly work then stop and then work again throughout a ride. I followed the DIY cleaning and lubing the cable... Still does it, but it is sightly better now. IF i hit the cluster it normally starts working until i get off the bike for a bit then i have to hit it again to get it working... Any ideas?

Sounds like something is loose within the speedo its self. I would check the connection behind the speedo. It screws into the back of the housing. See if that will help.

Are you talking about just the cable screwing into the housing or what?

Yes, it is mechanical. Check the cable at both ends to ensure proper connection. Past that, your problem is in the gauge or wheel hub.

The top portion of the speedo screws into the housing. It can come loose.

yea its in, the housing on the wheel seems to still be working correctly, tested it before reattaching the cable to the speedo. Cable is fully inserted into speedo housing and screwed in tight.

Taking a stab in the dark but you may need a new cable.

guess that is probably the cheapest part of it haha. Ill replace if it fully stops working... not all that worried about it, i dont really cruise around on the bike so when i ride im not too worried about how fast i am going.

^^ Possibly, but an easy test to figger that one out. If you find that you do need an extra speedo, I can offer you a free one.

However... it requires a pickup and a bit of searching. It's somewhere between turns 6 and 12 at JenningsGP. If you can find it, it's yours. hahahahahah
