was breaking the engine in yesterday and I haven't ridden it for a few months, I forget just how snappy it is
nothing like wheeling through ever gear with just a twist of the wrist. I often look at the 500cc two stroke dirt bikes and try to imagine what they are like to ride (never ridden one, popular just before my time) But those things have to be bat **** crazy!! I want one.... not even to ride it... just to say I have one

Some pics of my clutch cover, outside and inside and pressure plate after this weekends ride when i managed to put a nice dent in my cover.
Luckily it looks like there was only some light cosmetic damage to my pressure plate. The cover is dented pretty good. I will probably heat it up and crack it a few times with a hammer and see what it looks like afterwards. Either way i will just end up buying a new clutch cover.

My suspension front and rear is out to get completely serviced, springs, revalved, + more. So i am taking the opportunity to go through all the bearings on the bike.
linkage bearings are a mess well over due for service, will do the steering stem as well. After this the bike should be better than new especially considering i did the whole engine and carb last season. please keep comments regarding condition of work area to yourself thank you P.S. engine looks really dirty because it is. my last ride was in some wet PA clay and that stuff sticks like glue and requires quite a bit of elbow grease to come off. I need to take a toothbrush to the engine and get in there real deep like.

Nice!
I am liking my yammi 125 so far, maybe one day I will be good enough for a 250 in the dirt.

I prefer "Rrrring ding ding ding....ding....ding...Raaaaa ing...ding ding.."
@csmith12 what year is your yz125? I used to have an 05, it was a hoot. That thing hauled, so light and snappy, only thing I didn't like was it was hard to get the rear tire to hook up on technical hills or anything rooty, rocky, or the slightest bit damp, that thing would spin up so fast and power band comes on like a freight train. I had my 125 tune perfect, no problem doing roll on wheelies in 4th gear flying down logging roads hydroskimming big puddles. 05 was first year of the aluminum frame for the yz's. The 250 is just so much more of a brute, 3rd gear is phenomenal for anything, enough low end grunt to pull you through turns and keep the rear planted but enough snap to bring the front up at a moments notice. I need to get this thing back together pronto. Ill have some video of riding once I do. I have the camera and what not, just need to fix the mounting angle and then go burn some pre-mix!

I tell everyone, if you can ride a 125 mx 2stroke proficiently on trails especially hilly areas like PA, or I'm sure where you are from then you can be designated a master of the clutch. I still tend to ride 1 finger on the ninja clutch because of all my years on the 125 03' was a great year, my 250 is an 03' I know for the 250's that was a big year for engine changes, not sure about the 125 though. I get all giddy talking 2 stroke dirt bikes My suspension should be in this week but I still need to finish the bearing work They are a PITA to press out and in.

here are some pics of the old buck and a quarter. Sold it to my uncle for his son so my cousin as he used the exact bike to race and they wanted a spare. When he found out what year model bike I had and the shape it was in he definitely pressed the subject to encourage the sale but it was time for me to get a 250 anyway, just fit my riding style better.

Been awhile since i posted in here. Have done a good bit to the bike lately, a good bit of it is not visible but some is.
here is a picture from a few weeks ago Picked up some frame guards, and a sweet skid plate and some ebay barkbusters that have been great other than the connecting hardware they come with. And i just got this in the mail and set up. It's a Clake, light one finger hydraulic clutch bike is a mess, kind of embarrassed and a picture after the GNCC race in Somerset, PA bike had to have weighed 40 extra pounds with all the mud i collected. It was a mess of a race Hoping to get a few nice ride days in yet before i hang it up for the season. Time will tell

I will never wrap my brain around how 50:1 diluted oil is enough to lubricate rings & cylinders, wrist pins and main bearings but especially connecting rod and crankshaft bearings!
Considering a 4 stroke will quickly grenade if oil pressure drops to single digits! There is zero oil pressure in most 2 strokes! Don't try to confuse me with facts; a 2 stroke will simply never work!
