How to install LED front turn signals & relay
Here's the write up on how to install my LED P&P turn signal kit.
1. Remove the fairings. Please refer to this thread. I can post a quick DIY on how to remove the rear ones if you really need it. Just let me know. 2. Remove the OEM turn signal. It's just one screw. The screw is located on the back side of the blinker inside the blinker well. You might also want to break this screw loose before removing the fairing. I have a JIS #3 driver that I used. You can get away with a phillips #2. Here's a picture to give you an idea where it is: (taken from the DIY flushmounts thread) 3. Once you have the signal removed, just take the new one and put it in. 4. Put the washer on and the supplied nut. The nut is a 19mm or 3/4" nut. You can use a crescent wrench or even adjustable pliers. You don't need to torque it down very tight. Just tight enough the blinkers won't shift/rotate during riding. If for some reason the extensions are too short or too long, you can screw them in or out to adjust the length. 5. Run the wiring inside the fairing like stock. You may want to use some electrical/masking tape to keep it in place if you can't get it to stay. 6. Reinstall the fairings and enjoy the new lights . The following is for installing a new relay. 1. Remove the seat, rear seat/cowl, and left side rear fairing. 2. Find the oem relay. It will be right in front of your face. Unplug the relay and zip tie the new one in place. 3. Plug in the oem harness and ground the attached cable. I chose the bolt that attaches the front of the gas tank bracket to the frame. 4. Switch on the lights to make sure they work and then reinstall fairings, rear seat/cowl, and seat.

Why does it need a ground wire? Are there any PnP relays that work for LEDs that don't need that?

There are other ones that will work, but this one will work with up to 6 sets of lights so you can run rear LED's or other lights with the same relay. According to Tridon's website, the only other flasher with the same pin spacing and in a 2 pin configuration, which is also an electronic relay, is the EP12. I can't find a source for those unless I was to order them from AUS, which would just be more expensive than the EP34.

Tri stated the technical know-how, but it definitely needs a ground wire. Mine didn't work till I hooked up a ground wire. I figured if he can put together a badass flush mount kit, I'll use the same relay he uses, as he has to know more than me.

Hey all,
I recently bought a universal LED turn signals (unfortunately, not like the ones mentioned above) and they won't blink =/ just stay on all the time. I wanted to know if I can use the same EP34 relay or is it related to the signals themselves? thanks for the help and this great post !! |

Yes, you can use the EP34 to fix the problem .

I think I remember seeing a different relay used for other projects of this sort, that ddnt need a ground wire, but idk if it supports up to 6 sets of lights as you said this one does. im gona take a look and see if i can find it, im curious what the differences would be because its one i used to have on my old bike and just planned on getting teh same one again.

Hey,
I didn't get that exact one (cause i couldn't find a store that ships to Israel) but i did get some other kind of "electronic flasher" and my problem was solved. The one i got was plug and play, no modifications were needed, no ground cable either. I don't have any technical background but i think when you connect a large number of lights (or whatever) to the relay it increases the resistance and thus it might not work as expected (it's just an assumption here). |

Finally installed mine yesterday (long vacation intervened between receipt and install) and they look great. With the Special Edition graphics, there is only one way they work without blocking the "Ninja" sticker, so mine are upside down from the way others (except for Oroboros I think) put theirs on.
Works and looks great. Plastic threaded bit could have been a 1/4 inch longer to make install smoother with positioning needed for SE graphics, but overall a simple thing. I'll put up pics when I take them.

Floyd, you can turn the nylon extension so it extends the length if you need to. It has about a half inch play.

Darnit. Yeah, that would have worked, lol. Still, connects well enough, I'll fix if it becomes an issue.

Yep. It's how I had mine set up until I found some awesome rear LED blinkers. The relay is still necessary with rear stock blinkers.

I've never used that relay before so I can't say for sure. You could try a different one and return it if it doesn't fix the problem.

Turns out the relay is good i need some more resistance. Tried to mess with it for an hour and after melting one wire and making a great big mess I decided to man up and wait a day or to and get the nice clean connectors. Just ordered the no cut Diode kit Thanks btw.

They are from his website www.modmy250.com
His products are well made and easy to install. He's very helpful and supportive with any questions you may have, and very fast to answer them. He's quick to ship your orders. I definitely recommend doing business with Tri. His LED front flushes and LED rears look awesome and his no-cut diode makes them work together and is very easily installed. |

Help!!!!
I just got my Protons and hotbodies undertail with LED turn signal for the rear. I was wondering if the ep34 relay will have them blink correctly without having to use resistors. If I need resistors which ones should I get?
Thanks in advance |

The EP34 will definitely allow them to blink correctly. I actually stopped selling the EP34 though. I now sell a new relay that works just as well and only has 2 pins for a cleaner install.

Hey,
I'm kinda new to this site so don't really know how it all works but anyways, I had rear LED turn signals installed and they didn't blink until i installed the Tridon EP34 relay, and now they blink, but both at the same time... What could be causing this and how would I go about fixing it? Also not sure if it helps or if its the reason why, but I don't have any front turn signals installed. And on the dash the turn signal light does not come on... Any Help???... |

Do you have front LED signals too? If so, you would need the diode kit, which I saw you purchased and I'm about to leave to the post office to ship to you tonight.
