Hello from Tasmania, Australia

Hello everyone,

I've been lurking around these forums(unregistered) for a while now reading and learning heaps, in anticipation of buying my first bike - a brand new black ninja 250R, which I’ll hopefully purchase this week. Lots of great info here and looking forward to learning how to ride. I've done the riding course that is required in Australia to get a license, but still, riding on the road for my first time will be a scary but exciting experience!

Riding motorcycles is not taken on as a hobby by many of us, but for those who take it on, and I mean seriously, not half-litre first bike suicidal riding killer clowns, it's an exhilarating experience. This morning I cruised along the Ocean Road for miles and HAD to look up and say Thank You, the feelings from my senses were overwhelming me with such beauty and delight. Welcome brother.

Nope, I'm definitely not the suicidal clown type coondog. Just looking forward to picking my bike up from the store and learning to ride. I'll just have to find a riding partner/club down here so I'm not lonely on the road, I don't know anyone that owns a bike.

I figured it out alone in early 70's, alone. Still ride alone, however you have access to many articles, mags, books etc. for help if you want. You'll be fine dude, know it.

I've watched the twist of the wrist 2 dvd. It was really good the way they explained things. Planning to get books to read through for ideas of what to start practicing.
